I worked for a vet. A female puppy comes in odorous, covered in urine due to tape around her legs. I washed her in some nice smelling shampoo. As the Doctor retapes her legs, I made the comment: "Now you smell like a women". The next day, Im fired for sexual harassment. The Dr was offended by the comment. Granted there is more to the story, alot of drauma, but im just asking about the comment.

OK... here is the more. I was the only (gay) male workng with all women. Except for the owner who is male. This male is sneeking around with one the the female vets (who happends to be already married) She is flirty. She had told me before " you know Dr D really doesnt think your gay. he thinks you want me" Dr D is the vet who owns the place and fored me. I dont make sexually excplicit commments at work, or anything close. You understand why I didnt add that piece. I really know why I was fired, but wanted to know if that comment I made above was thought by the general public to be bad.

Well the comment could be misconstrued but the reason you were fired was more likely he felt threatened by you in some way.

confident, it rather is sexual harassment, and no i does not checklist the reason of leaving as such. i could positioned "distinction of evaluations" or some thing much less aggressive. the reason being is via the fact there is distinctive fake accusations in sexual harassment, and putting that throughout your app may well be a pink flag to a ability corporation that could have had a foul journey with a faux accusation. i could positioned down some thing obscure and that i does not bypass into plenty element if asked. It sounds too gossipy, even even though it rather is actual, a md does not prefer to hearken to gossip a pair of former boss. upward push above it and keep it basic and expert!

No, it was not sexual harassment. For it to be sexual harassment, the person must feel if they are forced to endure something as a condition of employment. You may want to consult a lawyer if it is worth your time. What I really would advise is if it is a job you would like to use as a reference is rather than threaten litigation (which most of the time lawyers will not take on unless it's blatant and there is money to be made), find the legal definition of harassment for your state. Call your former employer and let them know you are aware that it is not harassment, you are fine to part ways, but would like either a letter of recommendation or at the very least for them to change that in your record.

You're trying to get false validation by isolating one comment and getting feedback. That's like shooting someone and then saying, "Is crooking my finger and winking my eye (necessary to aim and pull trigger) against the law?"
C'mon now.
On a side note, it's fairly dysfunctional to make a comment about how an animal smells and associate it with a human being. My guess is that you are freaking weird and the vet couldn't tolerate it anymore. Creepiness has no place at a vet's office.

The puppy situation could be sexual harassment if it made others uncomfortable...however, you could turn around and say that you were harassed and felt uncomfortable in the work environment with all of that scandal going on.
You can consider yourself lucky that you are not around that environment or you can do what everyone in America does and get a lawyer...

I think it's impossible to tell since the comment is taken out of context from what appears to be a larger problem between you and the Dr.

Were you talking about the Doctor? or the puppy?
If the puppy, then any reaction from the doctor was likely out of line. You said there was more to the story, was there some history about the doctor or the comment?

The comment is kind of degrading to women in general, not the place. Good luck:)

just that comment, no. who were you supposed to be sexually harassing? the dog?
however, i suspect that the "more" to your story is the reason you were fired. do you have a history of making inappropriate gender-biased remarks? are you a misogynist? be honest...

Harassment is what you make it. Everyone is different. I myself would of laughed it off and make a smart remark back. Maybe he didnt like you for something you did.
