My fiance and I are thinking of purchasing a home. My credit is in shreds - his is perfect. Can a lender take both of our incomes into consideration but only run a credit check on him? (I don't care if his name is on the deed or if both of ours are, quite honestly.)

We live in Ohio, if that helps. (This would be his first home purchase - I currently own a home.)

Thanks!!

I filed for bankruptcy last year and I am now trying to rebuild my credit. I applied for several credit cards and was denied. I also applied for a secured credit card because I was told it would be the best way to rebuild my credit but I was still denied. What can I do?

I work for a community agency who helps the needy. The community voluntarily provides our clients this time of year wraped gifts and gift cards to make their holiday happier. I was able to take get my hand on some gift cards and I know it is wrong, but I took them for things that I can afford to personally purchase. But the reason it feels so good that I took the gift cards is that I feel my employer has treated me very unfairly for awhile and it feels so good to get one over on them. It is unlikely that I will get caught since gift cards are like cash and there is no record on who cashes them in. How do others feel about my deed?

Is it a level playing field when Japan doesn't open up there markets for Big three and even German automakers to really be competitive in there country's? Additionally, didn't Big Three plants help us win War World II by transforming there plants into tank and millitary production. Should company's that have a aging work force be penalized because they have simply been around longer and they have health care and pensions to pay for people that worked there in the past? Why has our country ignored it manufacturing base when it helped create the middle class?

$9550.91 * 20% (federal tax which was automatically withheld) = $1910.18.

The amount of the check I received was $7,640.73

So what other dollar amount am I responsible for according to the IRS?

25% of the $7,640.73? I made over $70K in 2005.

After less than a year, the other half owner recently acquired $200k in cash and wants to leave us. He doesn't want to pay any more into the house. He doesn't realize that by abandoning the house the lender will call in the loan and he'll have to pay his half with nothing to show for it. He thinks he can just walk away and leave us with the payments. We cannot afford to pay the full morgage payment on our own. Nor do we want to lose the house. He is also the type of person that cares less about others, but is only interested in what serves him best. Would it be fair to ask him to pay his half of the house loan, and then offer to let him stay as long as he wants with no further monthly payments, and no other monthly bills? The man is single, in his 70s, and really has no place to go. He is quite paranoid and doesn't trust anyone, not even us anymore. He also has three pets. He thinks he can take his $$ and live anywhere he wants, but an abandonment will show badly for him.

I'm curious about copywrites. lets say i wanted to submit a book or short story, or even artwork to a competition or a publisher for consideration
would it be smart to copywrite anything i send them first? like couldnt they just jack all my work if i didnt have it copywrited. couldnt some employee theif who works there do it?
im just curious if they can be trusted to take care of all that for you, or is it better not to trust them and do it yourself before you submit anything to anyone.

i appreciate everyone's help

I need all the tips I can get! If you've got names for headhunters in Italy.. direct contacts.. I've sent my email to newspapers there but as usual no response. I hate sending emails to info@... addresses! They usually go to the recycle bins!
I know I can do translation, teach English or Arabic and of course write. I'm sure being trilingual is an asset to someone out there! Help me make my dream come true!

including the 10% penalty -- what happens to this 10%?

How is it classified on one's income tax return?

Is all 20% classified as federal income tax -- or just 10% And if so, what happens to the other 10% - does it just disappear into the govt's pocket? I'm pretty confused

I'm wanting to become a manager at Chili's and hopefully climb the ladder. This next year I will be completing a Bachelors of Business Admin in Management, then completing my MIT training program at Chili's.

Is the restaurant industry a good field to get into, or is it drone work like Retail (Used to be a sales manager at Blockbuster and hated it).

Would completing an associates of applied arts in Culinary be a good move?

Help!!!

Do I then have to re-file a 1040X to correct the 1040X or will they adjust the amount accordingly?

Also, they have one item in the CP2000 for a pension withdrawl (I have 2 such items) but when I called my old company pension company, they don't have a record of that amount that the CP2000 claims -- but they have the other one.

What do I do? Do I fill out the 1040X according to the IRS data (I'm assuming that this is the smartest way to resolve this thing quickly) -- and if so, then I have to assume that 20% was taken out already from that amount since the other withdrawl (which I have the original 1099-R for) took out 20% for federal income tax and it is the pension comany's standard policy to do so.

When I do the math, it is clear as day that the IRS made a mistake.

THANKS!

We are looking to serve our tenant with a 3 day notice for not paying rent for Dec (25 days past due). This will be second notice to pay or vacate. The first one was for 2 months late (Oct/Nov) but did not include late fees. She paid the 2 months rent w/o late fees. Now I would like to include late fees from the previous 2 months plus for Dec. Can I do that? Also, we ended up using a lawyer for the first notice (we were not in the state). Can we include the fees we paid to the lawyer as well?

The lease expires on Feb 1st and we have no plans on renewing or re-renting. Is it even worth it? On the other hand, ideally for our situation, we would like for the tenant to be out by Jan 19th...

I am a new landlord in New York and need some advice from experienced landlords. I am renting out a co op apartment unit to two roommates in their 20s. I recently spent tens of thousands of dollars completely renovating the apartment, so I want to protect my investment the best I can. I took 1 months security deposit from the tenants. Since I spent tens of thousands dollars renovating the apartment, I would like to make sure I can hold back the most amount of money I possibly can in order to cover for any and all damages once they move out. How can I successfully hold back the security deposit should they do any type of damage to the apartment? Has anyone had any experience with this?

thank you
