I filed for bankruptcy last year and I am now trying to rebuild my credit. I applied for several credit cards and was denied. I also applied for a secured credit card because I was told it would be the best way to rebuild my credit but I was still denied. What can I do?

That will take forever.... did you try debt consolidation counseling first? ...i guess it doesn't matter because its too late now.... but if you are able to get any kind of credit... your interest rate will be sky high... good luck.

I too have filed bankruptcy and my attorney told me that it would take some time to rebuild your credit. It's not going to happen over night. You can apply for credit but you may or may not get a good interest rate. When you filed did you enclose everything? In my case, I did not include my truck and a student loan because I wanted to have something to build on. The one thing my attorney did say was do not apply for credit cards. Hope this helps.

You need to wait one more year. 2-years after bankrupcy, you can open a Secured credit card (preferably, get one with at least a $1,000 limit, the higher the better), from there, within 6 months of managing the account well, you can get an unsecure one and in less than 4 months have access to multiple credit cards as if the bankruptcy never occurred.

If you're in a hurry and can't wait another year, for your secured card use a provider specializing in them, instead of your local bank. Their fees are absolutely horrendous, and you'll be giving them free money, but you'll rebuild your credit, so it's like paying for playing.

Pay all bills without waiting. Credit companies check the basic billing companies for your record of payment. Pay any car insurance on time as well since that's on the report too.

Start with a store card, like Discover or such, they're not as broad as credit cards but you can start showing you do responsible useage of it. There are also some bank cards you can get, but don't get more than one. Applying for 5-10 cards is suspicious.

try getting a small personal loan from a local bank other wise get a credit card but make sure you select one that is for poor or no credit because this are the ones that will take the risk with you but once you build credit you could get a better one, check out www.fastcreditcardapprovals.com and go under the poor or no credit section. good luck
