Is it a level playing field when Japan doesn't open up there markets for Big three and even German automakers to really be competitive in there country's? Additionally, didn't Big Three plants help us win War World II by transforming there plants into tank and millitary production. Should company's that have a aging work force be penalized because they have simply been around longer and they have health care and pensions to pay for people that worked there in the past? Why has our country ignored it manufacturing base when it helped create the middle class?

If the US allows heavy industry to move out will will be like the south in the civil war. If China has all the heavy industry they will effectively rule the world.

If the Detroit Big 3 made quality cars at a competitive price, they woudln't need any help.
Their problems are the direct result of poor mamagement.
