I want to create a list of business categories and sub-categories that are most common/standard. For example:
Restaurant --> American --> Steak House ...
or
Business Services --> Consulting --> Management Consulting...

I've seen many sites that categorize businesses this way (e.g. yellowpages.com or yahoo.com)

I'm hoping there is some standard categorization with tools for importing/creating them in some common databases.
Thanks!

I landed a great job, but can tell that I'm in over my head - in some cases I'm in over my head quite a bit

The boss knows it and others surely do as well. I feel so embarrassed that my ignorance is exposed like this. I look like a fool when I need to reference things every minute to do my job. It's like hiring a proofreader for a job, and they need to read each chapter of a style and grammar book before making a change!

My bosses knows my weaknesses and they grilled me on whether I can do the job or not. I told them I could and that I'd study all I can. The truth is, they have back-up just in case I fold. I have lots of pressure on me. I need to understand material that it can take years to fully absorb and master

How can I save face (as much as possible), keep my pride and dignity, and feel ok?

Mostly, I'm really, really, REALLY embarrassed about my ignorance & EVERYONE knowing this. I have skills in other areas that my job needs, but the other part is just as important. Help!

Today I went to a store to buy the Miami Herald (I live in Miami). The price on the paper says $1.00. When I went to go buy the newspaper, the clerk wanted to charge me $1.07 (the Dade county sales tax is 7%). I told her that the $1.00 printed on the newspaper includes the tax. She said no. Of course I refused to buy the newspaper. After all, there are newspaper dispensers where you insert 4 quaters and get the newspaper. Can someone tell me what should be the price of a newspaper (using the example I gave)? Is this business breaking the law by charging the extra 7 cents? If so, who do I go to complain about this?

Eight years ago I decided to go to nursing school. I always loved anything to do with medicine and I can remember spending alot of my young life reading my brother and sister's biology books because I was so fascinated with anything medical. Well now I'm done with school and havebeen working as a nurse for years. I am so unhappy. The majority of patients are nasty and rude, my boss leaves alot to be desired, the doctors are rude and demanding, the paperwork is tedious, my knees are worn from constant walking on hard floors, I get sick alot from stress and germs...I could go on and on.

I just feel so down about my career ending up this way. I had one of my co-workers ask me why i became a nurse and I actually got defensive. I hated that she said what I needed to be asking myself. I know everyone is stressed at some time or other in their jobs, but I just don't know what to do to be more positve about mine. I know I'm a good nurse, but being like this makes me wonder. any advice??

I am 42 and my husband is 46. We do not "sacrifice" but are careful. Our current outstanding mortgage is $160,000. We started with $346,000 almost 4 years ago, but have been paying it down. Our interest is 4% but it is an adjustable that may jump to 6% in April of 2009. Is there a way to refinance and lower my payments so that we may pay off our home sooner, and so that we may be able to afford college without struggling?

An old associate of mine, who I thought hated me, called me up out of the blue, i hadn't talk to him in over 8 months and said they wanted to hang out with me. Then once we met up he said he wanted to take me to this seminar, I said cool. I went and this lady had this cheap presentation, the stuff sounded really weird, and some if was kind of sketchy. Then they wanted me to sign on the dotten line, and if i dint it would be a huge mistake. i said ill think about it, my friend or thought he was a friend said that next week he wanted to take me to another meeting. I kind of felt used, i thought the dude really wanted to hang out with me but instead he wanted me to sign to Primerica. I did some research and heck no, i will not be signing anything. hopefully they don't call too much, and ill just tell my friend of w.e im not interested.

Was I being used, And Is Primerica A Scam?
