No, its not necessary, but it can help a lot.

It really depends on how much time you're willing to devote. These programs can record a tremendous amount of financial info, but you've got to be willing to sit there and enter or download (from financial institutions). I'm a fanatic about quicken, and my whole financial life is in there.

You don't have to go crazy. You can use Excel to list your income and expenses. You can also go to ebay and find other programs for as little as $5. Finally. download.com has alternatives with free demos - just search....good luck!

Quicken change the password so my password don't work I have changed my password sometimes and still don't work they don't seem to want to do a thing about it so I don't what to do

It depends on what your financial goals are. I'm sure there are hundreds of kinds of software for finance, not just the ones you mentioned.

They don't do anything you can't do on paper. I happen to thing they are easier to use.
