will using my bank checkcard (debit card) help build my credit if I use it as a credit card when I make purchases (when you go to the stores they ask you if you want to use it as credit or debit) so I just wanted to know. Well thanks in advance :)

ok i am trying to apply for a credit card, since i have no credit, i need to build some up.... i was looking at orchard bank, and they want a down payment of your choice of $200, $500, and i think $1,000.... is that more like a pre-paid card more than a credit card? if i paid $200 for my down payment would that be my spending limit?

I don't charge my customers for sales tax (easier for them to accept fixed prices),so I give them round packages (e.g. $800) and I invoice them for 850.40 (package + sales tax), then, I give them a credit against the "sales discount" G/L account for the 50.40, that way I account for the sales tax, but eat it out of my pocket.
I noticed that my acctn. software puts the "sales discount" credit as an income G/L account. It does come off the balance, but I am not sure I am screwing up my income statement. I don';t really understand how a sales discount acct. can be considered income.
Am I doing the right thing? or is there a better way to pay sales tax, and still give round price packages?
Is sales discount the right account to post to, to offset the sales tax so I can pay it instead of the customer?
This probably sounds too confusing, but I really need help. Any accounting guru out there?
Thanks!!!!

I brought my nintendo wii all the way in january this year from argos its know october. Basically i was just wondering if i can still return my nintendo wii back to argos. I got the box, recipt and everything it is still in good condition. The reson why is becasue my wii malfunctioned inside. On the recipt it says "All products are guaranteed for at least one year." does this mean i can return it back and get my money back because am returning back in under a year but it also has a 30 day money back gurantee so am abit confused. So can someone tell if i can get my money back for the wii?

I am currently in a management in training position and I had a particularly stressful day last week. I got lost on my way to another one of my stores, argued with a mean convenient store man and then an associate quit. When she quit I just lost it and started crying bc all the days stress got to me. I quickly cleaned up (like literally 2 or 3 minutes and was back on track). The only bad thing is my boss heard me crying and now im thinking maybe she thinks i cant handle the position.
My boss's, boss's boss said I handled it extremely professionally and she was very impressed but im worried about just breaking down && crying like that.

What can I do to get it back on track?

Basically my issue is this...I applied at a bank, they denied me the job because I have a charge off on my report regarding a repo/forclosure of a home. Now, not that the companies care to find this out but, at the time my husband and I made ourselves available to the leinholder to resolve the issue, we'd give them all info they wanted when they called but would never return our calls when we'd try to contact them. We didn't even get far enough to get any kind of system set up to pay off the account before we began having issues contacting them. How can we be expected to fix something like this if they won't talk to us? And how fair is it that a company won't hire you for something you have no control over? Especially if it's a company where they don't handle large sums of money and you'll be touching or have any access to company funds. It's a receptionist position for goodness sake.

What do you do when you have a really cushy (for the most part) job, with decent pay, but my boss, a doctor, has turned into a real butthead. He has no patience, is very demanding, and lazy, to top it off. It is just a small practice, and his wife is the office administator. I am the only employee, and they have been very good to me, but lately, there has been some strain. I have though about finding a new job, but I am their only employee, and if I quit, I would be leaving them in a real bind until they trained someone else to do my job. Any advice???

My boss just informed me today that her bank will no longer provide her with direct deposit services because of the Patriot Act. What's up with that?? If the Patriot Act were really the reason, wouldn't this have occurred 5 years ago when the Patriot Act was made?? Or put into effect or however you want to say it. Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

i lost my lease agreement and we didnt notify the landlord in writing about the mold, we called him on numerous occasions. there is mold on the whole wall of our washer on and inside the wall, my boy friend removed most of it with his hands and sprayed the rest down with bleach and water but it keeps comming back. there was a lique from the washer and dryer hookups that we fixed because the land lord never did and that is why the mold is there. from the looks of it it had been there since before we moved in, thats just estimated because of how much was there, with it being halfway up the wall and at least 4 feet accross and imbeded in the wall. the wall was also so soggy my boyfriend had to bairly touch it for it to break and the mold was seeping through. im allergic to mold and there is no regulations in idaho on mold and i called the health department already and there is nothing they can do. what should i do?

I am about to go to closing in 5 days for a co-op apartment in Queens, NY. But after looking at zillow.com just now I found that recently sold co-ops (that are of comparable size) in the same building and adjacent buildings in the same community sold for roughly 30% LESS than I am paying for this one.
When I was negotiating the price, I wanted to ask for lower price but the real estate agent told me that the board might not approve the sale of an apt there for such a low price--- I feel I was lied to. But after speaking to my lawyer, he told me I cannot back out now because I already signed the commitment letter with the bank.

Is it possible to still try to negotiate price for this? What should i do?!?! I don't want to overpay 30% for this...

Ok so were planning on moving out in January. This is what i have come up with so far..
Bills
-Cell Phones $80
-Truck Insurance $200

Gas for truck $160
Groceries $120
Rent - Up to $700
-----------------------------
$1260 = $630 per person.
But thats just basic.
Right now I work 24 hours a week making 6.95, But also thats just basic I usually work more than that. And I'm a Waitress so I make alot of tips so I can make my half easy.
My boyfriend has a full time job getting 40 hours a week at 8.00. So he can easily afford it to.
We already have some furniture, and pots and pans and all that.

So is there anything I am forgetting? I live in Ontario by the way.

Has anyone ever gotten any phone calls from a Burgess Law office for a debt. I did and I paid it off and now the lady said that since i set up my payment plan with someone else it is and not her that it is void. I told her that noone told me that and that i tried to call her and she was always out. She told me she was out for a medical emergency and I told her that was not my fault and she hung up on me. Now I can't get her back on the phone to figure out what the heck is going on and I don't want them to start taking out more money that we agreed on. They are killing me.....
