Today is October 24th...My lease is up in a week and I have nowhere to go. I am going to be homeless. I lost my job back in July and having extreme difficulty in finding anyone who will give me one. I was supposed to have a job in Mexico for a little while but they renigged on me...I am completely desparate and at wits end and am contemplating going through with suicide. I need some advice please

Ask the landlord if you can become a "month-to-month" tenant. If you've paid your rent and are a good tenant, chances are the landlord will agree to it. Even so, once your lease is up, the landlord can't just throw you out on the street, he has to start proceedings in landlord-tenant court, which will take a few months. So you have more time than you think to find a new place to live.

Question is why cannot you claim unemployment compensation? Granted not the same as a paycheck, but should be enough to cover the rent. There is only one waiting week.

I SAY PULL YOURSELF UP! EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO WORK AT MCDONALDS DO IT! BUT WHATEVER YOU DO NOTHING IS WORTH SUICIDE ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN, OR FRIENDS OR ANY KIND OF FAMILY, IT'S NOT WORTH IT!
