I have a collection agency that I have been paying $80 per month to for nearly 10 months. This is an agreement that I made with said creditor and have kept the agreement, never missing a payment and never being late. Recently, I have received phone calls from said creditor asking where i work, who I bank with, my address, and other questions. Do I have to respond or answer these questions? I have kept my end of the agreement, and wish they would just leave me alone and let me continue to make my payments every month, on time!!!

If i made more than 3k but only since august? My parents have always had me as a dependant until now. Could i be like partially dependant? Why are you considered independant once you make 3k A YEAR? What??!!

Also exactly how much do you get for having a dependant? Isnt it like 6k you get to write off?

Is there anyway around this? Like since my parents pay, and can prove the pay, for my school, clothes, food, transportation, everything.

Also can i still file taxes as a dependant? Im self employed and im gonna need to file taxes this year, because if i do it under my parents name i wont be able to afford their tax bracket percentages! (im a minor)

Okay so this is what I'am asking for....I need you experience that you have had with your bank, good and/or bad. I am currently banking with Washington Mutral. However it seems to be a pain in the butt lately.
I am charged $9 fee because of excess activity on my transfers between my account. WTF!
I recently just had a debit charged to my account without PIN and I have no idea whom the merchant is. I spoke with someone about a week ago and the charge went away then charged again this month.
So what are you experiences as I want to switch banks and want to know which bank is the best.

I recently paid off the last of my school loans because I intend to buy a new car soon and wanted to have my other debt out of the way before I take out an auto loan. As the information has come into the three credit bureaus, I have watched my Experian score drop six points, and my TransUnion score drop a whopping FIFTEEN points! (News that I've paid off my loans has not made it to Equifax yet, but I'm already braced for the drop.)

What gives? I don't understand why I'm effectively being penalized for paying off my debt.

In California, can an ex tenant (in a residential home) sue the landlord over the security deposit AFTER the tenant has already cashed the security deposit refund sent by the landlord?

By the way, the landlord has proof that the tenant has cashed that check within 21 days from the end of the lease.

Also, itemized items were listed out for the tenant as to what the damages were, how much the repair was (at market rates), and photos of the damages were taken.

My husband and I are looking into possibly buying a home here sometime soon. I have been told by everyone that this is a buyers market right now. Do you agree? If not, can you please explain? I don't know much about the housing market, so any input would be wonderful.

Thanks!

My boyfriend's ex girlfriend (whom he was with for 3 yrs) prior to me, asked him to "cosign" a $10,000 student loan for her. Personally I think its just another way for her to hold on to him and stay present in his life, so they have "reason" to talk or, if need be, meet up.

But regardless of that, I think asking someone to "cosign" for you is kind of a big/personal favor to ask AND as for him... agreeing to cosign a loan seems like a pretty BIG commitment to make to an ex especially when you consider the amount AND, the fact that you live with your current girlfriend (whom you've been with for over a year). Am I wrong?

Its an Education Maximizer Loan through Bank of America for $10,000. Since the day she asked him to do this they've been dealing with trying getting this loan approved for almost a month now (since Sept. 28). And since that day she asked him to cosign, they talk to each other 2, 3, 4 times a week and see each other maybe once a week ... you know, for "loan" stuff. And of course, I am never told any of the phone calls, her stopping by his work, or him running by her house. I have to look in his phone (which is shady) and confront him about it.

And maybe I am crazy to be completely irritated by this whole situation but, in my opinion, the involvement they’ve had with each other over the past month seems to be a little excessive for cosigning a loan. No?

She txt him to tell him that the loan was finally approved yesterday and the check will getting here this Thursday morning. Then she follows up by asking him what he's doing that morning because, and I quote, "we both have to go to the bank and be there to cash the check." In which he respond to her text by calling her. Is this the usual procedure for borrower/cosigner? Does he REALLY have to be there to cash HER loan check? How much involvement is really necessary, or does this seem excessive to you too? As cosigner, what does his involvement REALLY consist of? Maybe I am totally out of line but I really feel like they are both over stepping some boundaries. I had to ask someone who was familiar with student loans and the involvement between borrower/cosigner because I think ENOUGH is ENOUGH!

Thank you so much for your time.

So my bfriend and couple friends has been working at a company and when they first started, they began to pay them with cashiers check "under the table" [aug/sept]. Now they are doing "Payroll" [oct] but they are deducting taxes from the time they were being payed cash [aug/sept], because they said they need to do it, and they can do it. Ive asked around and alot of people tell me they can't besides the amount is ridiculous. They are suppose to get paid $10/hr for 30 hrs a week w/out taxes would be 600 & approx like 500 dollars a week with taxes deducted, but there check have been coming like 300-350/ bi weekly i think that is just STUPID. and also one thing we noticed was that on the "payroll stub" it shows that deduction as 1/4 advance along with taxes, medicare, etc. Alot of people told me we can report them to Ca Labor Commissions i want to make sure i have the right answers first. If anyone can help me i would REALLY appreciate it.
[ By the way they dont work there anymore] thanks
