i am trying get this info as someone based in nigeria is asking me to send monies owed to them aparently by a uk based person, the email i have is paymentviacard@yahoo.com. is there a way to know where this was set up?

Contact yahoo with all your evidence and copy to Met. Police Computer Crime unit.

With a bit of luck, yahoo will at least close the account (and that's about the best you can hope for).

If you have the nerve you can check out 'scam baiting' (419 eater etc)

No, unfortunately anyone can set up an account from anywhere in the world and claim to be from a different part of the world. I have found out people who claim to be from the UK but are actually from here in the US.

You need to spam it everytime you get those kind of emails. Yahoo will track it after a few spams.

Click on your spam button instead of the delete button.

Don't send any money, this is one of the biggest scams. Don't send any info or even respond to this email. Block them from ever sending you any future emails. You have to protect yourself from these thieves, please please please don't believe a word they tell you. I was a victim of identity theft 5 years ago and I am still suffering today from it. I know its a lil different but I just hate to see anyone become a victim if it can be prevented.

This is a well known internet scam, just delete the email.

Do not even chase it. It is a scam.
All the scams seem to come from Nigeria.
Just delete it, dont let them know you excist.

best thing to do is to not pay any monies out to this person full stop that way you will not be conned.
