Im a 26 year old professional Mother. I left my career and I am in school full time. I thought I would like waitressing and the money is great to keep the bills paid (over $500 wk) but I HATE it. I need to find a job ... OBVIOUSLY I will have my son in the best hands. My Mother will help somebody watch him... I just need to figure out a good career that I can make good money and work after 10:20 am and 12:20 am after I get out of school. I was thinking about the YMCA because my son could ride the bus there from school and then we could ride home together. Anybody have any other ideas?
PS - if I wasnt a mother... and I wasn't already concerned with childcare...I wouldn't be posting this message. I need a job that works with my schedule but makes great money.

If you're going to pick up pennies from the street, (which I don't, because it's dirty and not worth the effort), do it smartly. Pennies made before 1982 are almost pure copper and the metal alone is worth 2.5 cents. Pennies made after 1982 are zinc coated and are worth less than a cent. So keep the older pennies and cash in the newer ones. But you may have to wait a while to make a profit. Believe it or not, the government recently issued a regulation to prevent the melting of pennies, since the pre-1982 pennies are worth much more than 1 cent. However, when that regulation expires, it will be open season on copper pennies, just like it was open season on silver coins (dimes, quarters) after they stopped making them in 1964 due to the price of silver increasing above the coins' face value.

How true is this?

I hate really long explanations, so here are just the bare bone details:
-My current job hasn't been treating myself or the other employees well at all
-I have a job offer making slightly more money
-The person I would be replacing is quitting next week and they need someone immediately

Do I just give a few days notice? (how rude)
or
Do I just take the other job?

I am trying to find a job in the legal/paralegal field in NYC...anyway, I'm terrible at Excel and math, lol. But I am great with verbal/written activities. How do I express to employers about my weaknesses - does it go somewhere on my resume or cover letter - if not where should I put this? I want employers to know this before I except a job that I'm not good at these skills. help me.

In other words, what legalities would I have to observe? What do I have to disclose to prospective buyers? Or should I spend big bucks fixing it up only to have the new owners rip everything out and put their own fixins' in it? I live in New York State.

I'm 24 years old, currently making about $60k/year and have begun a search for my first home. My current monthly expenses are $600 for car payment, gas, and insurance plus another $1,100 for other expenses. I am single, no kids and have no student loans or other debts. I have $30k to put towards a down payment. I'm looking at places between $215-300k. I've estimated a monthly payment of approx. $1,300/month depending on whether I purchase a house on the lower or upper end of this range. Is this reasonable?

Basically, they are charging me $600 by keeping my security deposit with the following explanation:
-$200.00 for parking in the fire zone which happens to be right next to my garage. Others park there constantly for loading/unloading
-$399.00 for having an attorney draft a letter to me to tell me this.
