I babysit, and 8yr old boy. Well they have yet to pay me.. I'm sort of afraid to ask. And to top it off they completly overpay me ( i mean its good but sometimes i feel bad about it..) I want the money but i don't know how to ask! Expecially because they pay me 11$ an hour.

I think the best thing for you to do is just ask the parents for the money they owe you. Maybe they just got busy & forgot, I know how hectic life can get for a working mom, I know I have forgotten to pay my sitter on occasion, but my sitter usually reminds me, and I am glad she does, because if she let it go on for a long time, and didn't mention it, I would feel really bad myself. And you shouldn't feel bad about the amout they pay you, did you set the rate of pay or did the parents? If they set the rate, then that is what they feel you are worth. But don't be shy, just ask the parent. If you don't want to just come out and say "Can I have my pay?" Say something like: Were you going to pay me today or just wait till the end of the week & do it all at once, or something like that? Hope this helps.

First, think back to when they do pay you. Is it once a month, on payday, or do you always have to ask? If you can find a pattern to how they pay then sit back and wait for that pattern to come around again. If there's no pattern and you've been waiting for a long time then it's time to ask. The next time they call you politely ask if they will be paying you when they return home that night. It's easier over the phone and it's less embarressing. That will also be a reminder to them that they need to pay you and give them the opportunity to stop at the ATM machine to get you your money before they go out or return home.
