In 2002, I was in a crappy situation. I won't get into details, but a roommate screwed me over by not paying her share of the rent & I didn't make enough money to be able to pay out both shares. (plus, I had literally no other options for housing/a place to live) Back then, I was literally making only $5200 gross per YEAR...so sad. So in the end, a judgment was placed against us by the landlord and now it is on 1 of 3 of my credit reports.

This happened 5 yrs ago. I paid the judgment(in full) less than a year later all by myself. Since then, I've tried really hard to establish good credit & I've paid all my bills on time. I have no other bad marks on my credit reports except for several credit card 30day latenesses from 3yrs ago, which was essentially a domino effect from the money loss that I experienced from this judgment.

How much do you think this judgment is pulling down my credit score? When will it drop off? It's only on Experian.

suposedly money... their job is relatively unskilled yet they get paid quite a bit over the minimum wage.
I am sure they all work hard but I mean i once had to shovel 1 ton of mince meat per half hour in 12 hour shifts and i got the minimum wage so that is no excuse.

now i read today that they are complaining that they may be made to actually work all the hours that they are paid for!

i believe they have no proper reason to go on strike - what says you?

I'm about to turn 24 and I've never filed taxes. (oops)

I've been working as a waitress "forever", and the other times I've worked in other ways, my income was still very low. I've recieved W-2s for most of the jobs I've been at, but never did anything with them, mostly because I'm an idiot where it concerns taxes and had no idea what to do.

I've been abroad as a tourist almost all of this year so I have no income to speak of for 2007. (I know what you're thinking. "She's been abroad for over half a year on a waitresses budget?" but yes. I am staying with a family and minimizing expenses. I'm in Venezuela, not Europe, lol)

Should I file now for all the years? Could I potentially get a refund? Might I owe money? Is there a "tax filing for dummies" book? lol. Help...

Im in college and just trying to get a basic low level part time job but I can't even get in the door for an interview. I've applied to several places and I'm very polite and professional and dress nice too. The managers seem very interested at first to almost hire me right on the spot. But after I fill out the application, they give me the runaround- dont return my phone calls/emails, make up lies as to why I havent gotten an interview yet until the position is finally filled, etc. It's all blatently obvious too but I dont understand whats going on. These are simple stupid jobs that anyone off the street could do and I'm a college student about to graduate soon. Im not a criminal, so the only thing I can think of is my past work history I worked a lot of under-the-table positions so they wouldn't show up on an employment check (what a joke, work is work), but I've also worked some valid jobs too. But would they check this before even giving me an interview?

I am still holding shares of American Home Mortgage which declared bankruptcy several weeks ago. The share price has plummeted and is almost worthless at this point. Do I continue to hold this position? Do I sell these shares that are worth just a few bucks? Will I recover anything as part of a class-action suit, etc.? I'm ready to just write this off as an almost total loss but I'd like to find out if I'm entitled to anything.
