I have received the same email but was not asked for my marital status or age. I was also curious about this so I went to Google and entered the phone number and that is how I got here to yahoo answers. I am almost certain this is a scam but that's only a hunch.

Sounds like a possible check cashing scam. Do not involve yourself.

It is a SCAM.

The checks will look real but will be fake. They will bounce but only after you wire the money out leaving you on the hook for the shortfall.
