If you're going to pick up pennies from the street, (which I don't, because it's dirty and not worth the effort), do it smartly. Pennies made before 1982 are almost pure copper and the metal alone is worth 2.5 cents. Pennies made after 1982 are zinc coated and are worth less than a cent. So keep the older pennies and cash in the newer ones. But you may have to wait a while to make a profit. Believe it or not, the government recently issued a regulation to prevent the melting of pennies, since the pre-1982 pennies are worth much more than 1 cent. However, when that regulation expires, it will be open season on copper pennies, just like it was open season on silver coins (dimes, quarters) after they stopped making them in 1964 due to the price of silver increasing above the coins' face value.

Listen; found Money- is STILL more than what you started out with. If you're so wealthy that you can AFFORD to turn your nose up at the pennies littering the Sidewalk- then why not hand over the $20. worth you have in that bottle?! There are a LOT of us who would be HAPPY to take them off your hands- for you! And then, there are children in places like Darfur- who could LIVE on the small change we're too fat to bend over to pick up on the Street for. -So are those pennies REALLY not worth our time of day- afterall?......................

i do now and lower back, based if i'm interior the temper to bend over to p.c.. it up... yet individuals that think of it particularly is disgusting are stupid. how is that any dirtier than any money that comes into your possession? you don't comprehend what proportion circumstances all your cash has been dropped, stepped on, or what forms of germs or ailments it has are available the time of..
