i'm an 18 year old teen living in america who is about to start trading. i've done several jobs in the past years and saved up 10,000 dollars. i have no other ways of income and i just quit my job and mcdonalds. if i trade stocks, how much tax will the government take? also is the tax charged on the total amount you make or on the profit. by this i mean let's say you buy company XYZ for a 1,000 dollars and sell it and make 1,100 dollars. is the tax going to be charged on the 100 dollar profit i made or the total 1,100?

I'm taking an Intro to Business class and my instructor says that as a sole-proprietor I can have the name of my burgeoning company placed on my personal bank account so that if I receive a check from a customer with my business name, I can still cash/deposit it. He said that if my bank refuses to do this to go to another bank because they cannot legally refuse my request.

However, I just came from my bank and they refused to do it. They stated that I *must* open a business account with them in order to have checks with my business name cashed/depositied.

Who is right and what can I do?

I am looking to buy a home and have found condos (patio homes and ground-level condos) in my price range. If you have owned a condo and later sold it, I would like to know what potential problems I might encounter after moving in, as opposed to buying a single-family home. Thanks.

I know if you do really good on some first interviews you get an offer at that interview but what about ones that they take some time think about hiring you before they hire you and also ones that give a second interview later on.

A facility fee is for the room a patient sees the doctor in and for use of the waiting room chair. The billing clerk assured me that Medicare paid for most of it. It seems the medical community forgets that "cash cows" have $93.60 taken from their Social Security each month to put into the Medicare. Every year the cost goes up because of their outrageous prices.

I am an inexperienced/new (less than a month) manager of a small group of workers. Administration seems to be targeting one of my employees. They have made statements to me about her not "grasping things." Her reviews have been stellar and she has been there for over six years. I believe that there is some animosity towards her (she is the only one of her race). This morning, HR confronted her for something that everyone else is doing (even HR!!!). I have no issues with her work ethic or personality. During my interview, it was stated that I would have to "let someone go" (sic) which was later retracted. How do I get to the root of the problem? Should I ask Administration exactly what they want me to do with her?

My husbands employer cancelled his insurance and failed to tell us and when he came down with pnuemiona we used it and now we have 2000 dollars worth of medical bills from the hopsitals and docotors visits. They even pulled the money out of his check. We brought it to the employer and they said they would pay it and it has been 4 months and no payment, plus they let him go. What do i do? I called the Department of labor and they said I need to contact the insurance and get a summary plan descrition and then do this and that. I would rather just sue the company it would be easier. Would we have a fighting chance and is that right if we sue them?

I love my fiancee, but there are many questions in our relationship, since she is from China, and I am a U.S. citizen. There are times, I am afraid she is marrying me for my money or to come to the US. However, I do not want to build mistrust by asking for her to sign a prenup. Several of my accountant friends advised as long as i keep seperate checking accounts and pay my mortgages through my personal account, then i should maintain my equity in these assets prior to marriage. Is this advice correct?

I visited a WalMart for about the 10th time in my nearly 40 years of life. Although I was not a patron - I wonder what that store chain does NOT chain? All these small businesses blame this store. I can see why. It seems like you can buy everything at WalMart. i want to know what you CAN'T buy at Walmart. List some tangible items please!
