when i asked the question the first time nobody clearly understood me so let me clarify: I'm renting an apartment and the leasing office wrote $900 on the lease as my rent amount. I've been living there for 3 months now, and recently they tried to underhandedly have me sign some 'forms' so they could change my rent to $1100. They never came out right and said , "We made a mistake....etc" They sent us a threatning notice of eviction if we didn't pay the difference . I refuse to void out my binding legal contract for a new one, just because they made a mistake. That's not my problem. So i told them to speak with my lawyer if they have a problem. Aren't i in the right?

I moved into an off-campus apartment about a month ago and my roommate is making my life a living hell. she is smoking pot in the apartment, has people over at all times, is very loud, she is threatening me and my other roommate. We have talked to management about it and they aren't doing anything about it! How can we get out of our lease. We feel very unsafe living here. we are young serious college students and this is really having an effect on our health and school work. Is there a way we can get out of the lease?

I need a $2500 loan quickly but I cant get approved through my bank or credit union because I have only been on my job for 2 months. So is there like some kind of tilte loan i can get or something like that even though i dont hold my title, my bank does. What kind of loan can i get using my car as collateral because thats all i have to use for collateral. I have a job and i know i can just save up the money, but i need it rather quickly. So responses other than get a job would be nice :)

I am so confused! Im not very knowledgable about credit card intricacies, even though I have one..one with a substantial amount of debt on it.

My credit card APR has always been 17.15% and I usually make all of my payments right on time, but because of some unforseen problems last month I didnt make the payment on time. This months statement says that my APR is 32.24%. I am aware that you are charged a fee for late payment, which my account has been charged, but why would my APR be so high??

Here's the deal, I am currently un-employed and have an interview tomorrow with an employer that a friend of mine interviewed with and passed on the offer. I know what the employer is willing to pay (35K/YR) and this amount is what I'm seeking should everything work out.

However, when asked for previous salary if I were to only put in what was making off of base salary alone, I'd be putting my self at a little over $27K/YR when I was really making between $31K & $33.5K/YR.

I know I should put that I was making the $33.5K/YR, but with this figure; taking into consideration that I am currently un-employed, do you think that the employer will try to offer me only the $33.5K/YR instead of the $35K? If so, do you think I should say my previous salary is higher than it is ($33.5K/YR)? Would this be risky considering that the base hourly pay does not add up to more than a little over $27K/YR (this is pre- O.T., no commission.)

Or do I still have room for him to offer the $35K?

I left my last job on good terms after 4 years and took a recent job. After being there a few months, I decided it wasn't for me but realized that it didn't look good having that on my resume as it looked like I was a job hopper. I chose to leave it off and when asked about my gap I just let them know I was doing temp-work. I chose to leave it pretty vague and they didn't really pry that much.

I was offered the job and they mentioned that a background check would be completed. On the application, I included all past employers besides the most current one. Will they only check with past employers that I have listed or will they dig deeper? I have a stellar past business references, high credit score, no criminal history, good personal references, etc.

The only thing that slightly concerns me is that I pulled my credit report, and it lists the last 2 banks that I worked for (including the most recent). I'm hoping they won't pay attention to those as they could be inaccurate.

I bought my home 4 years ago, and it appraised at $101,000. I bought it through a mortgage company, on a 30 year loan. Now that I can afford to pay a little more I'd like to redo my loan, and add my car payment on with it on a 15 year loan. The problem is that the mortgage company had a stipulation that they got to do my 2nd and 3rd mortgage, which they want to charge thousands of dollars in fees to do. Can I go through my local bank and do a home equity loan using my house as collaterol, and pay of the mortgage company?

I invested my $20,000 to a Senior Loan Fund C when I was advised to switch from CD to this loan. I told the bank broker that I do not want my $20,000 be decreased at all no matter what. 2 months later it decreased by $200. I told her that I want out but she kept on saying to stay for another 2 months and it will grow. But later on it decreased by $900. I was so mad, i took it out with penalty charge. I repeatedly told her that in the very beginning I do not want it to go down not a single penny because that $20,000 is intended for a good cause. She told me that it will never go down. Now I am short of $900. Had I stayed with CD I would have earned about $200 of interest already. Can I sue her for lying to me?
