Hi, I have recently opened a second bank account and am wondering if I can have a check sent from one bank (thats in my name) to another that is also in my name without any eyebrows being raised. I'm sure I can but i'm just curious

After working in the restaurant business fulltime for over 20 years in all capacities (dish-GM), I decided to take a break, travel, and go back to school to get my B.A. degree in Professional Studies with a focus on International Studies and Communication. I graduate in December and am wondering how I should go about marketing my new degree with my work experience. I still do catering and have my own personal training business. Any HR feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and feedback. -Koa

I was going to have a guy put a metal fence on my house. He was going to charge me 3650 for the work. He asked me to give me half the money to start the work. I made a deposit receipt stating the work description and the amount i was giving him for deposit. He came the next day for the deposit. He made too many changes in my receipt besides the fact that he didnt want to write down the license number and on top of that asked me for more money than we agreed at the beginnig plus other things that i didnt like he changed last minute. I gave him the check for 2,025 but minutes after he left i changed my mind about this guy and made a stop payment on the check and called him to tell him not to cash the check. He told me it was too late that he had deposited it already. I offered to cover the penalty fees since it was my fault but i dont want to do business with him. Can he do any legal action against me? he said that because of me his bank account had been frozen.

I'm considering opening a savings account with ING Direct. Right now the savings rate is 4.5% which would be $45 in interest per $1000 yearly or 12.3 cents daily. My question is the interest paid daily? If I put $1000 in the account for 10 days; after the 10th day will there be $1001.23 avaliable for withdrawl? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I got a few credit cards when I started college, filled them up, and have been sitting on the balances for the last few years. Now that I've graduated and have a job, I can afford to pay off the balances completely within a couple of months. My question is, should I pay them off completely, or should I leave a small balance on them? I have heard that credit card companies want you to have some kind of balance on your card so that they are still making money off of your interest, but is that true? Any advice is appreciated!

I worked for the past two years for a single company and made $40,000 per year, then changed jobs in June 2007, to go into sales. I am soon to be laid off due to poor sales performance, after 4 months on this new job. Somewhat of a chop shop. They paid a base salary of 40k as well.
Will I be eligable for unemployement insurance if I only worked there less than four full months--yet I have worked for the last two and a half years on a salary position with two companies with no breaks.

thanks

Help! I have a loan with Sallie Mae (big mistake) and the my interest rate is 18.5%. I only borrowed a little over $3000 and its now over $7000. What should I do?!?!?! This is driving me crazy because I don't want to be caught in sallie mae's debt trap for the rest of my life. I called them and asked if there was any way to lower the interest and they said no. I was thinking about taking out a lower interest loan just to get away from Sallie Mae but that may be a silly idea. I just want to get away from them! Any suggestions.

we are moving to the other side of the country, after our down payment, what we have put into the house, capital gains, realtor fees and all of our payments to the bank minus what we would have paid for rent elsewhere, what we have paid down on mortgage and all of the rebates we got we will end up with at a 14,000 profit- that is the bottom of the pool of similar homes that have sold in the last 6 mo. there is about a 25,000 difference between the lowest priced one and the highest similar home in my neighborhood so we could but most likely wont get up to say 35,000 in profit. would I be better off trying to rent out of state? will my mortgage on the house we buy in wa's rate be higher because it is a second mortgage? what do you think? Please dont tell me I dont know what my house is worth- the "similar houses" are all missing second bath, updated kitchen, most donthavewood floors new bath, newer windows, new roof, new water heater, sump pump, fin basement new hvac and appliances

I just started a new job where I will be in charge of using quickbooks. The girl who is currently working here has no standard procedures. I need to know, what is done the minute you receive an invoice. What is the best way to keep track of these invoices being paid. When she enters them, she just stacks them on a manilla folder and leaves them there. Is there a better way of doing this. Please help

I've become a co-signer for $20000 student loan for my son, who's not a US citizen or permanent resident yet.
I have a perfect credit history and mortgage free properties. I'm planning to sell them off and move to California, buy property there. And I will need a big credit line.
Is being a co-signer decreases the amount I can borrow in the future? Thank you.

I live in Oregon and I enjoy doing numerology, astrology, tarot and psychometry for others. Unfortunately, a lot of people have abused my free help and so I'm thinking about changing a small fee. (like, $5 or arrange a trade for something, I'm not looking to get rich! lol)

I'm going to set up a shop online for this and do the readings through the mail/e-mail (I don't have/like phones).

Do I need to register a new business name for this and have a separate bank account? Can I just share the same bank account for my crafting business?

I don't need any snarky comments or Bible verses, so just go ahead and click on by to somebody else who needs it :)
