yes ur right and the last trade will always tell u the shares current price, but for more chk Dow jones which is a super duper money maker lol chk it and many other companies on http://money.cnn.com/data/markets/dow/ and also on BBC world and CNN.
Dude if u so much want to know bout the stock market then attack the shark of all the markets which u'll find in here http://www.nasdaq.com/ and go thur the whole site it's fully loaded.
Nikkei is the stock market for Japan and u'll find more info on this site bout it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikkei_225
Then BSE and NSE are the Indian stock markets full fledged growing markets competing with the United states of America.
I suppose these r some beginning things u can go thru :)
