I plan on spending little to no money untill I leave for college. So my concerns are what banks are best for saving money and have the best student programs for college. I plan on getting my degree for counceling, so a good small buisness plan for later would be helpful, but not essential.
Thank you for your time!

I was curious.I have a friend that bought property about a year and one half ago.He transferred the property to his son with a warranty deed right after purchase . Now he found out that he might have been sued having to do with debts he incurred a few years ago that he never paid. Can one of his creditors lien property he has already deeded away over a year ago? He is really worried and wanted me to help him find out if they would be able to do this.If you are absolutely sure of your answer please and answer but if you don't please don't answer.I would appreciate your thoughts if you know the state law about these kinds of issues..Thanks in advance.

Hello! I have a friend who has some unpaid credit card bills since 2003 until now. My friend lost his job and became sick with depression at the time. My friends family decided he should move to the Philippines so he can be taken care of. He maintained good credit for 14 years. Now when he decides to return to the U.S. in California what should he do? What will happen to him and his credit? Can he rebuild his credit? What has happened to his debt with the credit cards Company? He is still under medication and treatment. Thank you.

I was filling out a bank deposit slip and thought I was supposed to put my social security # on it but the teller crossed it out and wrote probably my account number. Do they eventually destroy those deposit slips, is it likely that identity theft or anything could happen in the future since i accidentally wrote it on one of them?

I'm a young working computer professional with a growing investment portfolio. I take most of my financial adviser's advice on what funds to pick, but he's put a substantial amount of my investment money into Asian mutual funds. Given some the geopolitical issues with China and Chinese products (China's growing military spending, North American trade deficits, China's poor environmental policy, and a growing track record of unsafe/dangerous products -- toothpaste, pet food, toys, etc, etc), I've gotten to the point where I consider holding these investments to be, at best, somewhat unethical. This is not a financially motivated question; It's an ethical one. I would like some advice/guidance on what would be good investments into North American companies dedicated to developing the products and technology of greener future. I'm still looking for returns on my investments dollars, but I'd like to know I'm part of the solution, not the problem. What are the right investments for me?

If you own a business you want to be able to make a profit. This is a good thing. It feeds the owners family and all the people who work for that company. Great thing. SO.. if the cost of something you sell goes up... do you just fire someone to make up for it.. or probably first raise the price. If taxes go up.. do you.. pay it out of your own pocket? or.. fire someone.. or... raise the price?
My point is... when politicians say they are going to make things better by raising taxes on business or the rich are they not in effect saying they are raising taxes on the poor and middle class? Are they not in effect ..gasp.. lying to us?

I was recently informed that a person from our home insurance took photos of our property for no reason other than to snoop and I wasn't home at the time. They told me they don't need to tell me when they come or for what reason. We have had insurance with them for 11 years. They interrogated me about this and that. can they do that if you haven't turned in a claim?

I got let got from my job after 9 months . I passed the 6 month probationary time period. I was leaving for 2 weeks vacation and as I was leaving they call me into HR and all my boss says is "We are letting you go " . Have a good vacation. They give me 7 weeks salary and 1 month benefits ( I am 40 years old and this is in NY city)

I ask why and he says performance. Your not working out . I never got a warning and never written up and had no clue. I ask " Why did you never say anything to me " If there was something i could have worked on" and says "Just isnt working out"
One friend says they should do more for me since they are fireing me with no warning ( AS I walk out the door to vacation that I cant afford to go on now) andto see an employment attorney and the other says NY is a fire a will state and I have no recourse .
I am kind of mad and glad they gave me 7 weeks pay ( AS long as I sign away my right to sue in the future) but still I have a family.
Anyone with experiance

I was recently divorced, my daughter is in college. I fell behind on some payments on my credit cards in an effort to support my daughters educational needs. I have two homes with approx. $70,000.00 worth of equity. I requested from a local bank where i already have a note to borrow approx. $30,000.00 to pay off all cards and other debts. The banking institution refused my request, stating that i have some delinquent payment issues, on cards, etc. He stated since i have a note with them the only thing he can do, is re-adjust my payments on that particular note i have with them. I am new at this type thing, could someone please give me some advice? I am just trying to bail myself out of the hold that i am in, to make a life better for my daughter. Both homes have a lien on them with the bank.

Im 16 years old and attending Continental Academy. I left the 8th grade in feb. 07 to attend their home schooling program. I looked questions up about the school in the answers section and found out that people where getting denied jobs and into schools, but other people where getting better jobs and into schools. I've been thinking about this for the past week. I'm afraid to back to school because that means I wont finish until I'm 21 and I'll have to go back to middle school and be 17 in the 8th grade. The only reason I didn't really look into the school was because my cousin attended it and now she is in a community college. The only thing is she left public schools in the 11th grade. Does anybody have any information that will help me out. I really would appreciate it. I live in Norfolk, Virginia if anyone needs to look into any information.

I want to refi my house that we bought at $184,000 at 7.875%
it was fixed for 2 years and now will go up to 10.875%

Now, I have a $15,000 second mortgage that I accumulated from not having a job and misc expenses.
I want to combine them together.
I also want to add my $28,000 federal student loan at 6%
and my other private school loan of $12,000 at 13.25%
to the refi. I also have a credit card of $4,000 @ 8.99% fixed that I wouldn't mind adding to the refi as well.

First of all, Is this possible if my home is only appraised at $209,000 right now? And second, should I add these all together?

I would love to have one bill. All these payments are killing me.
Need your advice...
And if I should refi them all together, what companies have you been successful with for loans?

After much unhappiness with a crappy bank, I opened a new account elsewhere and began depositing all of my money there. I had a tiny bit remaining in the old account, and decided to spend most of it, and unfortunately, in the process of this, became overdrawn by $7. I quickly corrected the issue, paid the insufficient funds charge, and am now ok. However, I want to just officially close the account. Could this hurt my credit score? Should I keep the account open, put some money in, and incur some 'good behavior' instead of just closing it so soon after being overdrawn, even by a small amount for only a few days? I don't want my credit score to suffer! Thank you!

I recently recieved an email via myspace from someone who was apparently interested in my photos, saying they were artistic and whatnot. I participated in a contest for 'best picture' on their website, leaving out as much information about myself as possible because it sounded intriguing, yet a little too interesting at the same time.
Anyway, my photo was picked for a final round on the website and it wants me to refill out my information again, but with more detail and I don't know if it's just me, but if it won't let me keept things that are important to me out of the questionare, then I don't really want to do it. The site is called pictures.com and it seems legitimate enough, but I'm not sure.
I haven't been scammed before so I don't really know what to look for, but this just seems to me that this site is a little too interested in me/my photos, which aren't even that good in my opinion.
Any ideas?
