IF the deposit slip actually leaves the branch before it is shredded, it will always be in the possession of the bank or in a locked bag on route between 2 locations of the bank. Any paper containing a customer NAME, let alone an account number or social security number is disposed of though a document DESTRUCTION company by the bank I work for. I believe they shred AND burn the documents.

You could have asked for it back, but most banks hire shredders for all their garbage and are pretty concerned about privacy enough to not just throw away. Times have changed since some people used to have their ss # printed on their checks and that would give a thief, their ss, address, account number and signature.

Banks are VERY careful with any and all of your personal information. I would not worry because the bank teller has acess to that information everyday. At the end of the day any information with even just your name on it is shredded.

in all the banks, while opening of an acccoun t they will give a pass book. innthat u can well find ur name address account no etc. from this u can well fnd out ur accoount no. if u are not provided a pass book the bank generally will sent a monthly statement by post or by email. in that also u can find ur account number even if u are not possible to get ur account number u can straight away approach ur bank ask them by giving ur name address etc. they will tell ur account numer. then u should kept in mind for futher use.
