I usually see bid and offer price in screen to trade. In the paper or online news, however, they show only one price for reference. Is that bid price or offer price? Thank you very much for your response!!

I work in home health care - They gave me this new patient that needs tons of hands on care and without going into alot of detail - because of patients rights - It would have been a very difficult and demanding case to take.... Well, all the workers were getting 14 an hour and they only wanted to give me 12 an hour- and I was like that is not enough money... I mean I would have to drive an hour to get there - with out any reimbursement for that. Anyway. I'm pretty upset because I really need a job - but I don't want to be taken advantage of. What do you think?

I know that some states (like North Carolina) have a free online database for anyone to inquire for any property in the state. I understand that some states, counties, and cities don't offer, but through a subscription to a GIS server it can be downloaded. What websites should I inquire?

I got paid $200 as an independent contractor. Do I have to report this to the IRS next tax season, or is there a maximum amount that one can make without having to report it?(e.g., $400, $1000, etc).

Also...although I got directly paid $200, essentially I made -$90. >:( The expenses incurred from completing the project costed me every penny of the $200 that I got paid. In addition, the consequences that resulted from this project resulted in losing hours at work the next day, which costed me $90 from my paycheck. I know I cannot write off the time off from work on my taxes, but the $200 expenses were a direct consequence of going to work on the project.

I want to get a 30-year term life insurance. How I understand it, you pay the same monthly payment, no matter what, for 30 years. If you die, you get the money; if not, then you don't. I live in colorado, and I hear insurance is more expensive here. I'm thinking about moving soon. Mabybe Cali or something. Should I wait to buy? Because I would be saving a lot of money if there where a $5 difference in monthly payments. Or will the insurance go down when I move?

Would 60K annually be considered a successful salary for a 27 year old in Houston?

I just got offered that that amount today to take an EDI coordinator position, and I'm finally feeling like I'm starting to make it as a success. But I know there are people that make much more.

What amount should I shoot for before I can say I'm a financially successful individual?

Okay this was a really frustrating experience for me. A few weeks ago, my friend talked me into doing a paid project. We were getting paid $200 for completing this one-day event project. We got paid with a check and were told that we would receive a 1099 form at the end of the year, claiming on it that we'd received $200, so that we would have to pay taxes on this amount.

Well the project ran past the time it was supposed to end, and as a result my car got towed. It costed $200 to get it out of the lot(not even speaking of the inconveniences stemming from that horrible experience). Plus, I had to leave work early to get my car, so I lost $90 in pay from doing that.

From my understanding, I worked as an independent contractor on that $200 project(hence the 1099), therefore I should be able to write off business-related expenses. In the end, the expenses(the car tow) costed MORE $ than the $200 I made. I do NOT want to pay taxes on money that I eseentially lost. Any tax advice?

I'm doing some research on retirement plans for a company that has about 100 employees, average age 40. They are considering offering 401K, and would like some answers on:

1. % of employers that “match” ?
2. typical percentage or amount matched
3. Do they do it at so many years or immediately?
4. Do you have to be fully vested prior to matching?
5. Any employers that do it right away/ at one year, etc

If YOU own a business with similiar demographics or are the advisor to one, would you please give us some insight?

I've had my items posted on Craigslist for awhile. I reposted them a few times so they are at the top of the list. Unfortunately, I have not sold a darn thing...not one thing
!!!! Many of the things I'm selling are household items like figurines, lamps, decorative pillows. Some things are even new and have not even been taken out of original packaging. The other things are very gently used, so it is not like I'm selling a pile of grease rags. When the ad first gets posted, I have lots of interest, but then no one ever follows through with the sale! Why would people even inquire if they are not serious? I'm so tired of dealing with idiots. Would I have better luck on Ebay. I thought about it, but I hate dealing with shipping, getting to the post office on time, and the possibility of idiotic people who can read leave me negative feedback. I really need the money, but should I maybe just give this stuff to charity. I just really hate not to get anything for it? What do you think?
