I was on this bank's site called ICICI Bank and under their service charges page I noticed this charge (direct quote from page):

````````````````````````
Collection Items:
Collection item returned unpaid = $15.00
Please note that third-party charges/correspondent bank fees and charges may apply for collection items.
````````````````````````
The link is found was found here: http://icicibank.ca/personalbanking/disclosure.htm

Can someone explain to me what this charge represents?

Thanks

Is it better to file separately or jointly? Should I wait until next calendar year to legalize my marriage to avoid paying taxes this year?

I want to buy a number of things from and American internet site and I was wondering what a money order is. On the other hand, I live in the UK, so I'd need information on how to convert my £ into $. When you pay with a credit card they just do it strightaway for you: is it the same with money orders?

I have recently bought a house. I had a home inspector look at it. Now that I have moved in I have found out that some issues exist that where not in the seller's disclosure. They are: mold in the basement, a non-existent french drain (I was told there was one), and a history of flooding I found out from the neighbors. I specifically asked about flooding and was assured that there was none. Do I have any recourse on these issues?

Help! I don't know much about this.
At the moment I am working 16 hours a week, I get paid cash and don't have tax or anything taken out of my wages as I am on a low income. I know if you are on benefits you get contributions paid for you, if not it comes out of your wages. I am claiming a rate of working/child tax credits, should anyone be paying contributions for me or would it be up to me to contribute myself? If it is up to me to pay, do you think I should? I will be changing careers and working full time once my son is at school so will a couple of years without really matter as soon it will only be 30 years of contributions to qualify for a full state pension?

my boyfriend and i are going to purchase a condo for when we get married, and until then i was going to live there alone or with a roommate and pay him rent. well i want to create a legal contract for which if anything happens, i will receive the money back. he knows about all this, so it's not a 'behind the back' type thing and i just want to have it in writing since my name is not on the condo contract purchase.
who would i go to or what suggestions do you have?
thanks ahead of time~

I live in Indiana. We have some messed up taxes in our state.
For example, a average home in the low $100K range can have a property tax of $2500 and up. What's worse is your neighbor can have a similar house and literally pay half as much. I asked our county assessor exactly how the taxes are figured and she couldn't understand it herself.
Another crazy tax is for auto excise tax. Say you bought a $25,000 car in 2006. Tax can run well above $500/yr.
Is your state worse? What is the big "rip off" in your state?

My, soon to be, ex-wife wants a cash lump sum instead of a share of my pension. I'm prepared to borrow money to raise the cash, but it will take me years at who knows what interest rate to pay it off. Obviously the cash amount should be less than the pension share, but how much less? 20%? 30%? Is there any standard formula?

The ticket price this year should be set at $44.00 per person.

In an effort to make the event more family friendly and increase the number of attendees, we’d like to lower the ticket price this year. An extremely informal survey amongst our friends has suggested that each time we lower the ticket price $1, an additional 5 people will attend.

Price Attendance Revenue
$44 150 $6600
$43 155 $6665
$42 160 $6720
$41 165 $6765
$40 170 $6800
$39 175 $6825
$38 180 $6840

I’d like to set up a function that gives the revenue for any ticket price. Since the function we’re looking for depends on price, we’ll let x equal the ticket price.

Ticket price x
Amount price is lowered 44-x
Increase in attendance 5(44-x)
Attendance
Revenue f(x) =
f(x) =

He gets phone calls at least twice a day from the same debt. He let them know that everything will be current on his payday next Thursday, but they insist on calling back (sometimes as late as 21:30-22:30 central time), what seem like every four to six hours a day. What can he do to get the phone calls to stop before he gets his debt current. I have been around him many times when they call, and it gets quite annoying. What do you guys think?

I have research papers written as Word documents with lots of footnotes/endnotes and some block quotations. When I save them as .txt, the spacing is all f**ked up! Is is appropriate to send a writing sample ommitting the footnotes/endnotes to maintain readability of the document in inline text as long as I acknowledge their ommission? Or can someone help me with the Word .doc to .html conversion??!?

I'm thinking I want to run an ad in my local paper and this is what it would say - something like this;

Do you need HELP? Feeling OVERWHELMED? Would you love it if someone could just come over and help you clean or organize or help you with paperwork or bills? Call Marcy: (555)777-7777 (fake #)

Well, what do you think? Would people want this help - at $20.00 an hour.

I have a great idea for a small business that I think will be a huge success in my small community. But my personal credit is totally wrecked, so I don't think I'd qualify for any sort of financing. I'm not real sure how to get a grant. I read the book of the hyper guy in the crazy suit off tv who says he can help you get a grant for almost everything. It was a waste of time because it made no sense to me. Any suggestions?

We won a house auction on June 20, 2007. As soon as we did, the following day my husband and I applied for a loan. The lender, told us we were gonna close in 3 weeks. Between the day we applied for the loan and 2 days before closing we tried to contact the bank lender more than 30 times. He informed us we needed supplemental papers a week before closing and said we were gonna have an answer (wether approved or not) on June 18, 2007. On this day, we called him and he said he handed the responsibility to someone else in charge. This lender/bank know that if we fail to close on the 20th of June, we lose the downpayment made to the house.

Okay, now before we made the loan, we had to give 5% downpayment to the bank who owned the house. In the contract with the auction people, it is stated that extension for the closing is optional and is 150$ every day including the weekends.

Today, we talked to the person in charge with our loan and he said best case scenario is to get an answer in 2 wk
