I'm looking to transition into a role as a corporate recruiter or benefits administrator. I have two years of recruiting experience with a leading agency. If anybody has experience with this transition I would appreciate any tips. Thank you!

I just accepted a new job on Friday and I don't want my boss to know that I'm quitting bc of it, bc I know that she will have an attitude and treat me really bad. So what should I say in my resignation letter so she won't know. My boss is a real bi**h, I can't stand her and she's the real reason I'm leaving in the first place.

My husband and I signed a lease with a friend in January for an apartment to be rented for one year. Our roommate paid 1/2 of the rent and so did we. Well, a few days ago, he moved out when we were at work. He is still on the lease and told us that he would still pay for his half. We have a notarized paper saying that he will pay half of the rent until Jan 31, 2008 and that he wil no longer reside at the residence. If he doesn't continue to pay the half he owes, we want to sue him for the rest he owes. Will the notarized paper help us?

I live in Oregon. I am wondering if my landlord can legally evict my former fiance off of our LEASE... and not me. We had a falling out and since he is on the lease, he has every legal right to be on the premesis. He is for now, living somewhere else, but he comes here when I am gone or sleeping and messes with things. There is a rubbermade shed in the backyard and he busted the latch on it to get in and break some items. He comes in and messes with things in the home while I am gone. I'm scared of him and I don't know if I have and legal recourse to keep him out. A restraining order is only obtainable if the "domestic abuse" has occurred within the last 6 months, so I can't get one of those. I am sick of being paranoid and have to find a way to stop this somehow... any advice?

I am currently on maternity leave, my baby is due July 18th 07. I am aware that I will be on maternity leave for 39 weeks. My question is if i want to work part time, say when my baby is a few months old (as I have to pay bills still, and really can't survive on maternity pay) is this legal? Can I have a part time job elsewhere and still have maternity pay? Or do i need to inform my employer or quit with them first??? Any help would be great!

My Dad passed away in 2006, but had a revocable living trust prepared in 2001 that is in both parent's names. I am successor trustee and P.O.A. Since my Mom is incapacitated, I have been doing everything for my Mom. The Trust doesn't have its own tax ID number, just using my Mom's SS # for anything regarding the Trust. I am assuming that without a tax I.D. number for the Trust, then everything that I inherit will get taxed under my SS# probably meaning high taxes for me and possibly affecting my daughter's financial aid for college, if this happens within three years. There are only a few assets listed in the trust now with the rest listed in my Mom's name. Should I apply for a tax I.D. number for the trust now, and also change the assets listed in my Mom's name to be in the Trust name? How difficult is it to do these things?

I have a retirement plan with my employer and their policy is that the only way I can ever take any money out (emergency or not) is if I am 59 and half years (which won't be for another 25 years) or quit my job (end employment). Any other ways around this?

I am a chemical engineer by profession and it seems that engineering and technical education isn't getting me anywhere in Canada. The socio - economy conditions in Canada are much more hospitable to truck drivers, pizza shop owners, carpet cleaners than they are to technical people.

My question is which side career can I re train myself for to be able to have a secure life in this place. As a matter of fact my graduation in chemical engineering is from Canada itself, though I am dissappointed to see that truck drivers, carpet cleaners make more money and have secure life styles in contrast to engineers.

I would like to perhaps pick up a side professions that has scope for growth and matches my skill set of being detail oriented, enjoying to a certain extent people interaction (not a whole lot though). I was looking at few things like

certified immigration prof
real eastate agent
insurance agent
finanical planner

which one would people suggest I pick based on my background

Hi,

I put some money in Dependant Healthcare FSA assuming that my hubby is considered as dependant if he is on my health plan. Now I am told dependant is only children under 18 or anyone staying with you - older person. Is there anyway I can claim this money?

I am told there are some exceptions.
