There are actually no advantages of any 'benefits'. The reason such 'benefits' were first offered is as a means to get around wage controls imposed to 'fix' economic problems that were actually caused by government interference. The same applies to retirement benefits as well. Allowing individuals to make there own choices always results in better outcomes for everyone.
