What is the taxable difference in selling my stocks purchased via ESPP now, or in two years in the state of California?

I'm sure there are many factors, and I am willing to look them up, so even a pointer at where I can get this information would be helpful.

The ESPP stock purchase just happened. I know that selling them now is considered a disqualifying disposition. I know that I must retain them for a period of two years.

I made something like 70% on top of my contributions, so it seems very wise for me to just sell it, and take the additional tax implications, but I am curious as to what the difference might be, if I hold it for the two year.

When to access a safety deposit box in New York City, NY.

If a couple are married and share a safety deposit box, and one spouse passes away. What happens to the safety deposit box?

Does the surviving spouse have continuous free access to it? Should the surviving spouse immediately empty it if they may need access to the contents in the short term?

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Any cite to applicable statutes or NYS gov’t websites would be even better. (I could not find any)

Thank you.

We have already had problems with this landlord, he has a 17 page lease, and we discussed some of the problems, mentioned the trash, which was stated in the lease not to be there, well we called him one evening when we were trying to clean, just to inform him that he still needs to pick it up, he became irrate and wanted to break the lease, his wife talked us out of it, now we are discovering more problems, the ceiling fan cant be put on high because it extremely shakes, holes in the closet celing, the windows were duck taped shut, they could fall on the children!! there are a few minor problems as well, but those are the major, I do not know how we didn't notice all this before, but our previous landlords were pushing us on moving out b/c they wanted to sell their home, so we felt rushed, don't get me wrong other than that the house is nice, but all these things are serious to us! We want out!? what is the best way, since they are soo relunctant. please help!>?

i have to leave my private rented house - thro no fault of my own. but have been advised by local council to stay in it till my landlord evicts me! i am worried that this will have derogatory effects on my credit ratings and just life in general. i suggested this to the lady at the council and her reply was ' well if you're gonna get a council house in the long run why worry, cos you'll have an assured tenancy then' rather flippant i thought and not very helpful,

What happens to all the captial gains/losses from a 401k account. For example, say you start contributing to a 401k when you are 25 years old for 20 years and do the reallocating of assets (stock, bonds, fixed investments, matching stocks). I know while you have the 401K active, as long as the transaction is in a 401k, it's a non tax event. But what happens when comes time to cash in the 401K? Does the history of gains/losses count? To give a particular example, let's say right now, I have assets as stock funds, bond funds, interest income and company matching. Before I cash it out, I transfer everything to interest income for safety. How then does the taxes get treated? thx

I am self employed and owe 15k in back taxes and was wondering if those "settle your tax bill for pennies on the dollar" firms work or not. I know they use a legitamate IRS action to do it called an Offer in Compromise, but is it worth paying a company to do it when I cold possibly do it myself?

That if I made under 2800 a month then I could not move in there. And they needed a copy of my last years W2's and a recent paycheck stub......are they aloud to do this?

I have been working for a small commercial printing business for almost 3 months. They have 18 full time employees, some have been there over 20 years. I am getting $14/hr and I know that they are being charged $21/hr from the temp service. They asked me what I wanted to get paid when hired. I told them I needed some time because there are a couple things I need to take into consideration. 1. They will offer me health benefits and they pay the full amount, which for my family would be atleast $1000/month, I don't need those because my husband carries our health insurance--therefore when I take that into account health benefits are equal to $5.77/hr. Also, I know that raises are very few and far in between. I am basically their office manager, human resource person, accts. payable & receivable, and of course payroll, and everything else. I would like to get $20/hr. But I know that seems a little steep. Please give some honest opinions. Also what will they be charged?
