i hear all about this on the internet but have not found one company that buys them...lets say i had 5000 email addresses where would i take them to sell? is selling emails even real?

If you have an 'opt-in' list that you have accumulated, be sure that your original terms are not violated by the sale of the names. That is, if you promised not to sell or trade them, you can't. If your list is not 'opt-in' it is virtually unsaleable.
