So here's the deal, due to situation I have used my amex, alot. Now it's to the point I owe well over 20K and my payment is more than my car payment. I haven't been going out on shopping trips, just had to use out of necessity. Anyway so I can barely keep up with the payment and the $300+ of interest that gets added to the card every month is about to put it over the limit. I know I can go thru consumer credit counseling but I don't want to pay them to do something I can do myself. So here's my question, does anyone know how to get the credit card company to help me out by stopping the interest and lowering my payment? I wouldn't have to use it if my bill wasn't so high but ...you get the picture. I have created this mess I know that. If you have any insight or help I would appreciate it. Thanks

Real estate, mutual funds, gold, CD's, savings accounts, trusts, etc?
Also, what is the smartest way to collect and handle that kind of money? How do I learn to say NO to folks who need some money? Also, who is the best person who should know? Lawers, accountants, financial planners?

I just moved into my new apartment, & I can't afford to pay the bill in full because they're charging me $150 extra since my service is new. Plus, they're charging me an extra $55 since they had to come out the day I moved to turn my service on. & if I didn't get it turned on that day, I would've been without electricity for 4 days, & I need electricity especially the lights to study since I'm a college student. So I have to pay 150 + 55 + the actual bill. That's about $250 that I don't have. & I only get SSI & Social Security, so I'm poor.

I'm a poor single mother that is trying to overcome life's obstacles. I recieve no child support or government asistance. I live in Section 8, because I can't afford anything better. Although I am in college and work full time is their something I can do to improve my circumstances. I want a life where I can buy a million dollar house and give my child a life she deserves. I save every dime I get and pick up pennies on the side of the road. My family is poorer than I am, so I have no outside assistance. I am very business smart and can read between the lines of most business and personal interventions. I know I am not the only one out there that has been in this situation. So can anyone give me any advice on how to acheive the American dream, any advice is good advice from marrying into money to playing the stock market. I really want to know how others have made it.........................

My darling mum has been diagonised with cancer but I live in UK and she is abroad. I feel that I should be there with her at present to support and take care of her as I don't feel the care she's getting is good enough. On the other hand she's been having chemo which is very expensive there and I need to work to pay for it. I feel guilty for not being there, but it would be worse if the chemo was stopped due to luck of money. Help me get a peace of mind as its very hard for me at present.

I work for Old Navy (Gap Inc.) and I have direct deposit. I signed up for it the tuesday before our last paychecks came in. Everyone at work already got their checks put into their accounts except for me and the GM. I checked the website and looked at my paystub and it says it was directly deposited but it's just not showing up in my acct yet. Could July 4th have affected it? Should it be there first thing in the morning?

My ISP, without authorization, charged my account and a refund will take days to weeks. In the meantime, the charge sent my account into the negative but I didn't find out until after making several small purchases.

These purchases are currently "pending" transactions in my Bank of America account. If I make a deposit at an ATM, will the money go straight into my account and prevent the overdraft fees?

I'm a first time home owner and really need to move. I've owned the home for about a year, and am just learning about the capital gain tax. Trying to decide whether to try and stick it out one more year to avoid the tax. What are the percentages for short and long term capital gains, and which of the 2 will save me the most money? If I sell immediately the short term would apply, and if I wait a few months, the long term capital gain would apply.

I'm only 15 yrs old, but I've been thinking where I want to work in the future. Ever since I was 8 or 9, I loved working on the computer and now I'm decent at fixing technical stuff on my PC. So I was wondering, if I were to work in Microsoft when I grow up, what are some jobs that I could apply for? I know there are a lot of them but what are some?

In other words, what wording or phrases should be in the body of the email? Should I remain as ultra-professional as my cover letter (ie. Dear Ms. Brown:) or is business casual acceptable (Ms. Brown,)? Or even casual yet professional (Kathy,). The below is what I normally put in the email, but I am just not sure. Any ideas? How long/short should it be? What should be included? What should be left out?

Dear Hiring Manager (if name is unknown, otherwise Dear Ms. Brown):

The following attachment is for the Administrative opportunity at your company. I have over five years of experience and am anxious to hear more about your organization! I appreciate your consideration, and hope I have the opportunity to speak with you further. Thank you.
