I'm a poor single mother that is trying to overcome life's obstacles. I recieve no child support or government asistance. I live in Section 8, because I can't afford anything better. Although I am in college and work full time is their something I can do to improve my circumstances. I want a life where I can buy a million dollar house and give my child a life she deserves. I save every dime I get and pick up pennies on the side of the road. My family is poorer than I am, so I have no outside assistance. I am very business smart and can read between the lines of most business and personal interventions. I know I am not the only one out there that has been in this situation. So can anyone give me any advice on how to acheive the American dream, any advice is good advice from marrying into money to playing the stock market. I really want to know how others have made it.........................

Sounds like you are in a tough spot, but going the right direction. Get what education you can, and find a job that will pay you enough to live decently. Forget the million-dollar home idea - that's way beyond most people. Make sure your child goes to school regularly and gets a good education that will let her get ahead in life. Since you are low-income she should be eligible for a lot of college aid.

The next few years will be rough no matter what you do. But maybe down the road a little, things will level out for you. Stick with college.

Good luck.

I think you are already on the right track. You are in college, hopefully working on a degree in a field that you will get you a better job. The other thing you have going for you is obviously determination -- wanting to success and get ahead. These things take time, so please don't get too impatient and do something stupid (like marrying some rich guy, just because he's rich). Good luck to you.
