is it possible ? I mean, suppose I'm a database admin & I want to be a network admin too. Is it possible to have 2 different jobs in the same firm ?

If its up to me, I'm 100% ok with it & could/would stand the pressure.
I still can get 2 separate paychecks , right ?

Fine with me. However, I doubt you can talk payroll into cutting you 2 checks.

Seriously, if you want to administer the databases AND the network, you need to think about the time frame each job entails.

I'd imagine you'd want to simply roll both jobs under an umbrella job title like IT Manager.

Ask any mom this question. We can give you a list longer than your arm of positions we carry on our shoulders 24/7. And you are worried about two positions. Sorry 'bout that, I just couldn't resist. In answer to your question without sarcasm. I have never worked any where that you could have two separate positions in the same firm. To do this you would have to work days at one job at one company and nights at another.

Possibly, if the company allows such a situation to occur. But most firms would not - officially, at least - have the same administrator in multiple spots.

Yes, it is possible, depending on the company. I have a co-worker that is a Cognos developer on my team and a Quality Assurance reviewer for the QA team.

However, she only gets one paycheck!
