My dad's company was sold and is moving to Indiana so he's going to lose his job at the end of August. He knows he will be eligible for unemployment but the company is now offering him to pay him to maintain the facility for a few months after the company moves until they can sell the building. He is concerned that he will no longer be eligible for unemployment if he knows ahead of time that this is a temporary position. Is that true?

What is something that the potential buyer can see when looking through the house that will make it more likely for them to want the house? Such as small little details. Not big dramatic changes. thanks

My friend made me a proposition that if I signed this house into my name for $200,000 I would OWN it, and somehow get $20,000 back (can't remember exactly how he said I'd get that back, he was talking fast).... then I could apply the $20,000 to the monthly payments for about a year or so (or rent it out if I wanted to)....... and in the end I'd flip it and sell it in a year to make money........

Has anyone ever heard of this or been successful with this sort of thing????? He says he'd have me sit down with his broker and what not..... being that I'm not AS familiar with that sort of market as some people I want to know if what he's doing is legal and if it has the potential to actually MAKE money. (He's got a lot of crap to show for his last flip.... a boat, two cars, a new house, a bike... etc.....)

If I own a house I can right off the interest on the mortgage?
This goes against my federal government Tax bill ??

so lets say I have to pay $30,000 on my federal tax and I have a big mortgage on my home. In the first years of my mortgage payments it is all interest and it comes to $30,000 in interest, I can right that off (that means I don't pay tax!!!)
Is this right?

My husband and I recently took new jobs and have to fill out the w-4's for taxes.

We file jointly, own our home, have a daughter, and like to have plenty withheld to cover our taxes at the end of the year.

If we both check married, no exemptions on the w-4, will we likely have enough withheld by the end of the year to cover everything, or should only one of us claim "married" and the other check "single". I don't want to make a mistake and not get a refund next year, but also want to make sure the govt isn't getting too much extra of our money...

Thanks for the answers.

I have a sole prop and park my equipment in the yard. The equipment is destroying the grass so I was going to pay and have my driveway extended so I could have a place to park my equipment. I am claiming the In Home Office expense already. Can I deduct the cost against my business? If so, how? Would I need to have the business pay me personally rent for the use of my personal area and then deduct the expense against any rental income I choose to "have the business pay me"?

My bro (in MA) loaned his bf (in NJ) several grand last year, but hasn't been paid in full yet. Only received about 2 grand back. Has backup of voicemails, txts. He's been lied to and ignored, & he's getting sick of it all, and wants to take his friend to small claims court. How does it work if he lives in a diff. state? Does he even have a case?

Thanks!

My father has thousands of dollars yet wont help me , this is heartbreaking for me as i dont deserve any of this. i have bad credit and no one will give me a loan. can someone please help me, or steer me in the right direction. no scams please, as i am down to my last bit of strength .....
