Today we saw a +$9 jump in Aur Resources Inc. (TSX: AUR.TO) shares due to the take over by Teck Cominco. How could one possibly predict that? I mean what were the signs? The only thing that I've managed to find is that Teck Cominco had recently appointed a senior VP PD. But that's about it.

Thanks.

Okay, so this is what I understand so far. An IRA is like a shoebox and my investments are the shoes. And the shoebox is what shelters me from the taxes. And there are penalties if I were to withdraw early before I retire. So this would mean it would be a long term investment, right?

If so.. can someone recommend a mutual fund or stock I can put my money into as a long term investment? Or should I just go with a money market savings? Any other suggestion inputs welcome.

Pharmaceuticals and other tech. companies aside, is it really hard to spot winners like McDonald's, Taco Bell, Dell Computers, and the like before their stock takes off? (especially those companies whose services we easily understand)

Wasn't the upcoming success of these companies easy to see? What did people have to say about these companies way back in the day when they first began? "Best Buy is financially strong and is growing aggressively, but there's no reason to think the stock will soar..." (?)

Any thoughts appreciated.

I want to purchase a domain name and web hosting also. I had purchased a domain from Go Daddy but never hosted there. I am thinking of Go Daddy or also heard about Yahoo Small Business. There is also Bluehost.

Which is best. I know Bluehost and Yahoo gives free domain, but GoDaddy is only $4 a month. Bluehost is like $6.95 and Yahoo is $9 for first two months.

Thanks all.

My landlord recently noticed my girlfriend's car parked in my spot (I have two parking spots) over a certain amount of time. I am renting month to month, one bedroom, one bath, one person living. The landlord said if there is another person living in the apt, the rent will increase $125 a month. I ignored the noticed, and am now having her park on the street. If she decides to move in, do I have to tell the landlord? It seems reasonalbe to me to allow two people to live in a one bedroom. Most of our neighbors have more than one person living in their apartments, and although I don't know what they pay for rent, I think $125 more is unreasonable. What do you think?
