How could I predict this (TSX market)?

Today we saw a +$9 jump in Aur Resources Inc. (TSX: AUR.TO) shares due to the take over by Teck Cominco. How could one possibly predict that? I mean what were the signs? The only thing that I've managed to find is that Teck Cominco had recently appointed a senior VP PD. But that's about it.

You can't. Companies go to great lengths to keep this stuff secret. Besides, if someone could predict a 9 point jump today, they would have been willing to pay 8.50 higher yesterday, but then you wouldn't have the 9 oint jump.
