Every paycheck I get a lot of money taken out of my paycheck for taxes...understandable. I just want to know what factors go into this and maybe a detailed report of each factor and its contribution.

I'm 17 and am working part time for $10/hr. Here is an example of one of my paycheck.

I worked 11.5 hours and so I made $115, but then my employer deducted $17.25 for federal withholding, $7.13 for social security, and $1.67 for medicare. I ended up getting $88.58 after all the deductions that paycheck. This is about 23%.

Now I just asked my sister about hers, and she told me that her paycheck was $126.05 and she lost $13.75 through taxes. This is like 10%.

Why is mine so much higher? Is my employer ripping me off?

Do you have a system of getting all your bills paid on time at the right time of month? We pay our bills through the computer, and it seems like we have so many bills and everymonth we either forget to pay one or pay another twice by accident! What is YOUR system? Thanks for any advice!!

My parents don't give me a really big allowance, which isn't totally a bad thing since I've become very good at managing money. But I still wish I could make more money to get more of the things I like. I'm 14 and right now I have a job as a soccer ref but i'm not scheduled to ref that many games. Are there any jobs anyone knows of that I could get this summer or next summer to help me earn a little extra money?

Like there was a piece of electronics that cost (retail $300) $150 in stores but on eBay after you do the bid and calculate the postage it's about ten bucks. They say in box from factory and new but should I trust them? And why is it SOOOOO cheap?!?!?

I'm a 13 year old girl who is a serious dancer. Next March, my studio is attending a big event in California for a week and I am dying to go. The trouble is, my studio goes every 2 years, and my parents want me to wait until 11th grade. All of my friends are going this year, and I will do anything to go. I need to raise $400 in a few weeks, and $2000 by next February. I've already done the standard baby-sitting flyers and asked around for yard work, but it isn't enough. I am semi-busy during the summer with a few very-low pay jobs, but I really need to come up with this money. I can't do the newspaper route, our nieghborhood is already set, and as for the yard sale, if we have one, all the money is going to my older sister's college tuition next year. Please help! I need suggestions!

I recently switched jobs and need to elect COBRA in order to have health covereage for the month of June. According to the paperwork I received, I have 60 days to elect COBRA coverage (from my date of last coverage which will be May 31) and if I elect it, my health insurance is retroactive to that date. So I'm wondering if I can wing it in June and only pay for Cobra if I end up having to make an insurance claim?

The system involves selling Footsie Options once a month. The sale of these Options will result in a credit to your account of 3% - 6% per month - which they claim is certain regardless of weather the market is going up, going down or standing still. In 260 months of operation they claim 96% have shown a profit only 4% a loss: having made an average return of 38% for 12 months.
Is this possible?

I've seen a ton of brand new homes and almost all of them have hardwood floors rather than carpet. a few have carpet in the bedrooms, but rarely is it throughout the entire house. is this a new trend? do people just prefer hardwood floors to nice, soft, plush carpet? I live in the northeast btw, so does region have anything to do with hardwood popularity?
