Do you have a system of getting all your bills paid on time at the right time of month? We pay our bills through the computer, and it seems like we have so many bills and everymonth we either forget to pay one or pay another twice by accident! What is YOUR system? Thanks for any advice!!

This can be REALLY frustrating!

The way that I totally ELIMINATED this frustration was to save up enough money to cover one month's worth of bills.

Because I had enough to cover all of the month's bills, I could just pay all of my bills ALL AT THE SAME TIME only once a month.

As I get paid through the month, the money just goes directly into savings to "refill" the account for the next month's bills.

One GREAT time to save this amount of money is to use the tax refund (if you get a substantial refund) to put into your savings account and be able to move to a "once-a-month" bill paying system.

Another way to gain complete control of this is to put together a budget for each paycheck. Spend every dollar of the paycheck on the budget BEFORE you are paid.

Spending my money on paper BEFORE I was paid changed my financial future forever!

I have a FREE budget form that allows you to do this on my personal finance blog: http://www.josephsangl.com Click on "Tools" at the top of the page and click on the "Monthly Budget Form - By Week" link.

Good luck!

Some bills, like power, water, and gas, come the same time each month. We have them auto pay from the checkbook and then the company sends us a reminder what day they are taking the money; so you don't forget.

On the other bills when we get them we write on the outside of the envelope the date due and amount, with the most current due on the outside. The next one due is automatically on top of last months statement (a good reminder)!

Bills are paid on Sunday, whether auto pay or by check. We chose not to pay by computer.

I would make up a calendar that like an appointment book for doctor appointments, is always on the side of the keyboard. And/or you can put the same information on a calendar hanging by the computer. Either way you note on the next month's calendar when each bill is due.

1. get a calender mark down what days the bill's are due and and when you pay each one put a "P" for paid.
2. either on excel or a regular note pad
put the months for the next 6 months and going down the line what bill's you have to pay from the beginning of the month till the end.
then nxt to each on put how much you paid and the ck number.
at the very bottom put your total for the month but not until you pay all the bill's that way you don't forget any. Plus this will help you realize how much you are spending and paying and much to put away for savings and what not to do.
try to cut down on going out to movies, and resturants it will save you money in the long run plus you will have extra money at the end of the month to pay a lil extra to the bill's you want to pay off sooner then the others.\

Hope this works out for you!!! and good luck

Since payday is every other week, I pay bills every other weeks. This normally means 2 pay days a month, sometimes it's three. Anywho, the first pay day of the month is the one I pay my mortgage and car insurance, the second one is where I pay everything else. So each time I pay bills i am usually paying the same ones so I know exactly what needs to go out. I suggest you keep a notebook listing your paydays and underneath each payday date you list what you know you will need to pay. You can do this for a few months at a time. As you pay them on each payday scratch them off the list. Also, have a master list of ALL your bills and their approximate due dates.

The most important thing is to be consistent. Pick a day of the week, say a Wednesday, and make that your day for looking at and paying your bills. But make sure you do it EVERY Wednesday. That way no bills ever get missed or let go.

I make a itemizing of each and every of the fees due each and each month. next to each I write the due date, yet I make it 2 days formerly if I pay by digital mail and 7 days formerly if I mail the fee. Then next to that I write the quantity due. Then I decide what's mandatory from my pay examine for any costs due that week. (i gets a commission weekly so i glance on the checklist weekly) I deposit that quantity and mail or e pay those costs. I take $20. and placed it away right into a value reductions account. that's an envelope for emergencies. I then use what's left over for food, gasoline and entertainment. which isn't alot. this variety my costs are paid formerly i will spend the money on the rest. this methodology seems to paintings for me.

I made a check off sheet with word and I keep it in a 3 ring binder by the computer. As I pay a bill I check it off.

I signed up for auto pay from all of my bills.I never have to remember paying any of them.
Just remember to always have money in your checking account.
Automatic is the easiest way to go.

Good luck
