without knowing a lot more about who you are, how you treat your investments, your financial situation, other existing investments, etc. there is no way to honestly answer this question.

To a day trader, 'a few good stocks' means something different than it does to a swing trader, which is yet different from an intermediate term investor, and yet again from a long term investor ... and that's before age and other factors even come into play.

I do know this ... any company you hear about via email, Internet, or snail mail newsletters is probably old news before you ever hear about it {or a pump and dump scam}.

There is no quick and easy substitute in the markets for knowing who you are, how you behave, what you want, what you'll accept as 'good enough', when you need it, what behaviors do and don't work, AND doing your own research.

Because if you don't, some more experienced shark like me will almost certainly eat your lunch [and your capital].
