i grew up in australia all my life up until now. I have just moved to the u.k and want to get myself setup for the future. Seeing as i lived all my live in Australia and all my friends are there, i am in two minds about where to setup shop and work towards my future. Any ideas? What would you do?

I lived with an ex in an apartment that he signed the lease on and I didn't. I gave him half of the rent and bills and he blew it and didn't pay the rent and now the landlord has named me in the judgement for the past due rent. Can he do this if I didn't rent the apartment?????

I currently am 3 credits away from obtaining my associates degree in accounting from an accredited online degree program. I have always been curious as to how employers perceive these programs in terms of quality of education and readiness for the job. I am trying to decide whether to continue on with the online program for my bachelors or to get into a local traditional learning program.

I moved from Canada and we had what we call a basic personal amount. Which is an amount you can deduct from your overall income. It was 8839.00.
I am wondering if they have this in the US and if so where can I find out how much it is or get some information on it.
Or if not this, is there an amount here that you can earn before you need to file taxes?

Where is thest place to find steady work, my husband is 42yrs old and has been looking on the Job Bank as well as the local paper, he has posted ads on Kijiji looking for work and so far the end result is nothing. Potential employers think 42 is too old. It appears to us that the job market is dead here in Ontario. Is it true that there are better paying jobs in Alberta and how would one go about getting a job in another province? My husband is willing to temporarily move to Alberta for employment but he doesn't know how to apply for a job there, especially if he can't get an interview.... Please Help!!!

With the recent significant falls in the dow, is now an ok time to go forth with new investments. Is this a trend that will likely continue? Or is this something that was likely just a market correction of some type, and we are still on a good path. My current contract expires in about 2 months and I am planning to move to another apartment, since I have always had problems to recover the deposit from previous landlords (not because they withhold anything, but because it took many calls from me and time requesting the money back, I am planning to tell my current landlord to take into account the deposit as my last month of rent, is that fine?
