As soon I leave my house for work, I start wishing I was back there. My boss has no interest in what I do with my day (that's why I spend it all on here). I am actively looking for another job but can't just leave cause - like most people - I need the money.

It's not that the job is boring (I could sit all day and stuff envelopes if I had to).

Yep!!!! I'm with you!
I know people say (including me) that you should be happy to be paid for nothing, but when you're sitting there staring at a computer screen with not a thing to do and its only 10.30am its hard to feel grateful!!!
Money money money, I'm moving countries in a few months so its like there is an end shortly, but its already soo long!!!
I feel your pain! Almost didn't come in today actually!!!

A job, like your life, is what you make it. Perhaps you need to re-evaluate your way of life, and ask what is important to you. When I was diagnosed with cancer, life too on a whole new meaning. I quit my full time job, took a part time one that was just what I wanted to do, and was in the field I was trained for. Since then the cancer has been treated, and now I have an incurable illness and am unable to work. I have excellent memories of my last job which it broke my heart to quit, but I don't have to think about the wasted time in jobs I hated. After all we all have to put the bread on the table. It's what you put on it that may need changing?

I Quite literally had a crap job when I was younger. I worked at a Boarding Kennels and had to follow the dogs around picking up their crap. Didn't get paid much, had to start really early - but my Mum and Dad got free boarding for our dog when we went on holiday! Love my job now though! I was in a similar position to you about 4 years agao so I started creating my own projects - got a good name for myself and am now in a job which I love and my old boss has to keep coming to me for info and help!

yes but jobs are crap mostly arent they, this girl u used to workwith used to say when you are at work you are not alive you can only start living when you get out of work.
most jobs are boring and dull and we do them for the money, most bosses take no interest in thier staff, most people miss thier houses as soon as they leave for work in the morning and all people unless they have fouind thier perfect career want better prospects.
i work in a college, the pronciple earns 90,000 per year, however she has gotten rid of my colleague becuase of "cutbacks" and now expects me to do twice as much work for the same pay, not even a title promotion, so i earn just under 12,000 per year doing the work of two people, and she get a new car for her chrismas bonus, i am not eligible for a bonus beacuse i have had tw0 weeks off due to stress in the past year.
good luck finding a new job, bollocks to bosses

depends how much you earn.
more than 8 grand a year is considered ok but if you really wana good job satisfaction stay where you are write a list of all your interests then go for a job that involves them interests.
alternatively look for a job where you will get bonuses like working at the cinama genrally means you get to see movies before the public
working at a bowling alley means you will get free games
& last but not least working at a bank does not mean you will get free money.
BUGGER!!!!!!!!
oh well best of look in the search.

I actually love my job, but the wage is pretty bad. I look at job adverts for the same job that I'm doing and they all seem to be at least £3k a year more than I'm on! It's quite demoralising, but what can you do? It's all part of the wonderful world of being a grown up. Hmph.

It could be worse, you could be the poor sod who has to sit and watch the Big Brother house just to operate the beep when they swear. Now that has got to be the worse job in the world!

I used to have a really crap job. I would wake up every morning and try to decide if I was sick and didn't have to go in!!! I've recently changed jobs and I'm much much happier.
