I am 30 years old so how do I find a company to take me on. I am a college doing a city and guilds tech level 2 in plumbing at the moment.

30 isn't old,i'm sure many companys would be glad to take on someone like you. Many company's lose money through school leavers starting to train cos they can be unreliable. Ask around make some calls,learn direct may be able to help.

I did up to level three.Including the gas.You have to be very cheeky and even offer to work for the experience rather than the pay,You need a one man band or a maintenance company who are not only plumbers but cover all trades sorry but their not so fussy who does the work

Look through the local yellow pages and maybe just call around the independent companies and ask if they are willing to take on an apprentice.
