I live in Southern Connecticut, I want to start a charity for the homeless. how do i go about doing that?

That is so sweet. This is a tough one because there are so many scams out there some people may be reluctant to give to someone who is not ;established'. However, I think a good start would be to get a building in a central part of town where you can help feed, clothe, distribute food/clothing, maybe a small shelter, where people can actually SEE what you are doing. Get the press involved, andmaybe have a grand opening type thing where people can donate. Maybe try and go through a local chain and see if they will help you raise canned goods or something...they did it here (I don't know f bigger chains would do it but it never hurts to ask) -- they got a free drink or something for a can of food.... there are many ways to do it. Ask your Mayor.
