Because we live in a society in which anything that is outside the norm people get offended over. BTW anyone who gets upset over a band t-shirt needs to get shot!!!!

just tell them the name is band tshirt day not band ideology day you wouldnt rag on someone for wearing a clay aiken tshirt would you on second thought I know I would.

We had that too, and I wore a NKOTB shirt and was immediately fired. But hey I got a nice severance for it.
