Has anyone encountered trying to get out of a non compete agreement at work? I have always heard that they are basically non enforceable...but mine reads pretty iron clad tight. Can a company really prevent you from working in an industry that your entire career has been based on?

I live with my Dad and he has always delcared me as a dependant on his taxes every year. Last year, I barely worked(was full-time in college) and only made about $1,000(total taxes was like $200). Should I file my own taxes for something different, so that I can get a little bit of money back, or should I just have my Dad put me on his file again, thanks.

My neighbor is a breeder. He has five kids and every year he gets a huge tax refund from the Earned Income Tax Credit. Within one week of the new year he already has his refund and all of a sudden he is ghetto rich. He buy's wheels & tires, quad & mini motorcycles...nothing really necessary. Why should someone who pays no taxes get a $ 6,000.00 refund? We pay all year and still owe at tax time...plus were trying to put a kid through college.
I wanna be ghetto rich!!!!

I have diabeties type 2 and leaky heart valves. tried to get different coverage or 2nd coverage added but no- one will take us. The ones that will is asking for way to much for us to afford on our budget. I can't even afford my meds. and my co-pay visits of 50.00. Not to mention our part of the medical expense on hosptal stays and tests and treatments. Now I may loose my job because the company thinks I'm a risk. We are already behind in our bills because of all this. Where do I go from here? Goverment says we make too much for assistants. Where is our government at for folks like us? Do I want to vote this time? Who do I trust? I am getting so depressed with this all. We just wanted to live the AMERICAN DREAM!!! We wanted to buy this little place we are renting because our children are grown up now. And to enjoy our lives. Our credit is messed up now and not getting better. Is this it? And what of our kids and grandchildren? Whats in their futures? I need answers.

I moved into my home about 2 years ago. My loan was a First Time Homebuyer Bond Loan that said I must occupy the property as long as that loan is active. I've always made my payments on time. A few months ago I got married and moved into my husband's house. I tried for several months to sell my house with no luck so I rented it out. I never told the lender, I just kept paying the mortgage payment on time each month. They just sent a letter saying I've moved and that's against the terms of the loan and I have the following 4 options: 1) Refinance, 2) Sell the house, 3) Move back in, 4) Submit a request to temporarily vacate the property. How did they know I moved? Could it be from when I changed my Social Security card and drivers license to my new name and address? What can I do to not have to not refinance but keep my tenant renting from me? Can I keep the house for sale for a whole year without it selling and not be penalized? I need advice from people who really know.

if he allready has a bad impression of me because I...

-made a few mistakes because I didn't listen well and didn't pay attention to what I was doing
-I'm a very quiet person but I probably seem aloof and antisocial to some
-I'm not always "impeccably dressed" because I just don't have money right now to buy a new wardrobe
-I have trouble remembering some things

I'm new and it's a very demanding job. I only know a few people, have trouble with the machines, still trying to figure out their online system and there are so many things to know and remember.

My boss seems disappointed in me which is bad b/c I don't want to get fired. When I start looking for a new job I don't want him to say negative things about me.

Pretty much I"m relatively young (24). I recently got my B.S. in Comp Sci and started working at a new company. Majority of the staff there are in the 40's or later. I'm probably on of the youngest out of 1,500. I find that I get treated very differently among others. I get treated almost smaller and kind of rude/disrespectfull. I know more/less it has do to with my age more then being the fact that I'm new there. Pretty much it almost feel like age discrimination. It's not consistant (all the time) but every once and a while and especially particular people. Is this normal in most businesses. I don't act immature etc. It seems almost like maybee I'm threatning them due to my youth and knowledge etc....

that they demand selling something on THEIR time, not the customers? Isn't this the foundation for why it's terribly wrong?

I am currently in the process of a long fight with my brother to my rights of my mothers house. My mother died in 1996, SHE DID NOT HAVE A WILL. However she put the deed of the house in my name in 1991 when i was only 5 years old. My grandmother was appointed the administrator after her death in 1996. I am trying to move in the house now. We were recently renting the property. My brother is trying to say that he is heir to half of the house even though the deed was quitclaimed to me long before her death. I want to know is there any way for him to have any inheritance in the house? Also what steps do i need to take to probate the house into my name? Therefore i can legally live in the house.

I have a furniture store. The ceiling collapsed and rendered us out of business for 3 weeks over Christmas. My Policy exludes collapse due to Faulty wormanship. The landlords insurance says it is not their responsibility, Who is to pay me the loss of income. I know it is owed to me but what do you do in a case like this? There is no insurance company that pays for faulty wormanship.
