that they demand selling something on THEIR time, not the customers? Isn't this the foundation for why it's terribly wrong?

Doesn't everyone have caller ID these days? Don't answer the phone if it's not a number you recognize, and the problem will be solved. In another few years, nobody will ever answer to telemarketers and the occupation will die off.

Here is why it doesn't stop: It works.
Studies have shown this type of advertising to be effective, and that's why companies keep investing in it.
My advice: get caller ID or join the do not call list, but, you really shouldn't be mean and nasty to the caller, they are just trying to pay the mortgage.

BECAUSE THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR TIME OR EVEN YOUR RIGHTS. THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL SOMETHING THAT MOST PEOPLE DON'T WANT AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT.
SOLUTION? JOIN THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST. THEN IT BECOMES ILLEGAL FOR THEM O CALL. I JOINED TWO EARS AGO AND HAVE NOT BEEN BOTHERED SINCE
