I've been in my role for roughly 2 years and have just been offered a promotion out of the blue. I am quite happy in my current role however I can't see myself wanting to do it for more than another 2 - 4 years.
After adding everything up it'll mean that I'll been earning roughly 7k p.a less than I am in my current role. The extra 7k I totalled up comes from overtime (Which I choose to do) and food allowance. I'm really unsure what to do. The new role sounds amazing, and is just what I want to progress to eventually.
The Pros: A more senior role, more of a routine to my day, 9 – 5, opportunity for further progression.
The Cons: -7K
The problem is that my boss has said that there is no budget for an increase in my current salary, and I’ll no longer be entitled to the overtime and food allowance. With a mortgage and bills to pay, I’m unsure that it is a good move to make.
What would you do?

I am 33 yrs old and interviewing for a position in commercial real estate. It's been a while since I've interviewed anywhere and was curious to how I should address the interviewer/potential new boss during the interview and with a follow up thank you note. Do I address him as Mr. or call him by his first name. The new boss is 7-10 years older than myself.

The reason I ask is I worked for one of the largest US investment companies for a number of years and everyone was addressed by their first name (even the CEO). Also, all of the institutional clients we worked with were all referenced by their first names only.

I just finish filling out my income taxes. The software says I have a credit of $2,747. Should I enter my deductions any way? Or should I save my time? Please help.

Remember I do not own taxes; I even have a tax credit.

Thank you.

I'm self-employed in the UK - first tax bill due at the end of this month. What happens if you can't pay it all? Do you get fined, or do you only pay interest on what you owe? I'm only a couple of hundred quid short, so I might just take it out of my savings, but I'm curious as to what happens.

I'm considering purchasing something from an overseas seller who has opted to use Yahoo! Finance to help us with the transaction.
The guy who has my case with Yahoo! is very short with his responses to me and uses words like "reprezentant" to describe himself.
It's a lot of money (at least to me) to be wiring across the world when i don't have confidence in the people i'm dealing with, has anyone else had good or bad experiences with yahoo! Finance that they could share with me please.

Thanks!

Jake

And notice in online banking that you have received electronic deposit trial deposit? It's just odd because I have setup my paypal account a long time ago when i had that transaction that said electronic deposit trial deposit, one is for 17 cents and the other for 54 cents... but why is that doing it now again? Could it be paypal or a hacker... please reply asap. Thanks.

I got employed as a receptionist in August, by October the Secretary was terminated for leaking confidential information. By the 2nd week of January i got promoted to Secretary.

Some how i feel like i cost the secretary to loose her job.On the day before the fiasco began, it was way past closing time and the secretary went her own way off the premises with one of the agents so i called one of the manager and explained the situation to him (keep in mind that i have no keys to lock up). The next day when they questioned the secretary about the conversation she had with the Agent, she said it was business related but she could not disclose the content to management. Should i feel guilty or responsible for that?

My husband and I are in the process of buying our first home. A realtor recommended a loan agency to us to get our pre-qualification letter. I can't find any information on the internet about this company. She wants to meet with us tomorrow night (in her home I might add). I'm extremely leary just handing over all of my personal information to just anyone. My parents told me I need to just get my loan through a bank since chances are, they'll buy the loan anyway, but my husband says that this woman will work just fine for us. (I think he is being a little naive about this though). How do you know if you're working with a reputable lender or if I should get away before it's too late? DOes it seem weird that she wants to meet with us in her home as opposed to an office? Is there anything I should keep an eye on or pertinent questions I should ask her during our meeting?
Please help!!

She has put in a few applications so far. One of them turn her down because her current landlord said her housekeeping was not good. Which this is true. I told her if I were you I fix everything up that damage and see if your landlord would give you a positive reference. She does have 2 other landlords with good reference.
She was thinking about lying to prospective landlord. She don't want to put down her current landlord. She just want to used the other two. I told that they(future landlord) going want to know
where you been living the last four or five years. She told me she going to used family and friends. I told her I hate for you to lose your chance of moving in the future by lying. She used to suffer form major depression that was main reason she didnd't took care of her place, sometimes lazy, and she don't have any income. I told her she need to get a job even if it parttime. Where she living at now and apply for apts are Section 8.
