I had an interview yesterday with midsize private company. I tried to make it to the IT Department. One interviewer met me at the lobby to meet the other people. At first it was good, then I noticed they becoming unprofessional ( which they admitted) and rude. They're just wearing casual clothes. One of them even had a bit of bread crumbs on his lips, anyway he found it later. One guy tossed his business card to me - literally, just like that. One gave it to me nicely. Then started asking technical questions. Most of the time chuckling sarcastically. It was intense. One guy asked me "so you done a lot of schooling, here it's more practical" sarcastically. One just staring at me. It so uncomfortable and unprofessional. And the job description wasn't the way it was before. And the salary range was below the industry standard. Are they being rude and obnoxious towards me? What should I do during this kind of situation?

I'm a new resident building up my cradit from zero. I applied for a 500$ secured card from Bank of America, now after doing some research, I think it should've been 1000$. Can I add to the existing card or set up a new one with the same bank? Or is it better to do it online from a different company? I'm not planning to take a loan or store cards.

My daughter and I have started making jewelry. We THOUGHT when we first started investing money in the supplies to make it, that we would be able to sell it then be able to put more money back into it, giving us a larger quantity and style to choose from.

The problem is, how do we actually get started? We are mainly making jewelry that represents the colors (and mascot) of the university where we live because it is a very popular item and it is VERY expensive to even purchase a simple little bracelet at Dillard's in the mall.

Problem is, we don't know how to get the stuff out there. Do we invest in jewelry boxes for the ear rings, bracelets and necklaces or just make our own cards to hang them from. Do we need a business license to even do this?

And please don't suggest selling on eBay. For two reasons, One, I have sold on eBay before. It is not as easy as some people let on to believe. And, I have researched 'home made jewelry' and it DOES NOT sell well at all. Thx 4 NE advice!

Does anyone know the regulations concerning telemarketing in Canada? I received an automated call this morning (at 9AM Saturday) from a home cleaning service waking me up after working until 3AM.

I have checked the CMA website, Better Business Bureau, and Quebec government websites and here is what I understand. They are not supposed to call you before 9AM on weekdays, 10AM on weekends. However I think the rules apply to CMA members and they are voluntary - guidelines but not actual laws.

I'd like to know if the automated dialing services are legal, and if anyone knows of more information on direct marketing and telemarketing rules in Canada.

I put myself on the Do-Not-Call list last year and it did not help, even though it is supposed to reduce calls for 3 years. I just did it again today - suspect that is not really a helpful tool and we need actual legislation to enforce it.

Seems like my workplace has become worst. We not only have to clean up other people's backed up work because they never caught up and the higher ups got mad when they found it but now we have to take the mail to the post office which is one mile away every day after work and no we dont get paid extra for doing it. This is because they are too stingy to pay for a messenger while the executives there get paid $14-$30k per month and we have to drag around their PERSONAL MAIL after work. They said if no one volunteered then EVERYONE on the TEAM would be assigned a week, EXCEPT THE SENILE RECEPTIONIST AND THE ASSISTANT MANAGER AND MANAGER but then they go around sayin we are all part of A TEAM. This is B.S so do u think this is employee abuse?

She said there will be the potential to make over 150k per year. Do you think this is true? Is the mortgage business a good business to get into now? Why is there so much turnover and why are they constantly advertising for new reps?

Gone are the days when people were respected simply because they happened to be older than you are. Unless the boss commands respect and has got admirable qualities it becomes tough to respect him. I guess we need to as usual keep a low profile..
