I had opened an american express credit card and with generousity added my ex( was my bf at the time). Now that we arent together anymore I just want him to pay his side of the bill. He recently quite his job now and he owe about $800 on the bill. I am so upset because this will mess up my credit. I admit it was very stupid of me to do that and I learned from it. I know he has no income but he should have thought of that before he quite. A couple of weeks after we broke up he still charged items on the card and I am upset because he should have paid it out. We are not together jus pay the bill out and I will close it. I dont have any income coming in aswell but if I did i would have pay it out and have him pay me back before I get a bad credit or worse. What should I do?

I have been working at a part time retail job since high school. I have been unhappy working at this job for the last several years. The only reason I have stayed is because of my seniority I had very flexible hours for class. I have just graduate from college with a BS in business.
After I graduated they offered me a full time position that just opened up. The managers are really pushing me to take the position. From what I’ve been told the position pays marginally better then what I currently make (max of $2 an hour) but has many negatives (hours, weekends, responsibilities)
I know if I take the position I will be unhappy, but it may help on my resume. Just coming out of school I have the desire for a change as well as an opportunity to have a job I enjoy or at least not hate. I feel if I take the job I will be screwing over the people I’ve worked with over the years because I will be not happy in the position and be trying to leave at the first available job offer.

I purchased a home and rehabbed it. I have several thousands of dollars in receipts from those improvements. Can this be written off on my taxes? The property was not my primary residence. I realize I will need a professional to do my taxes, but was hoping for some answers prior to that. Thanks!

I was thinking of getting a car through a dealership who deals with bad credit records, in hopes to restore some of my bad record. I am thinking of opening up a new auto loan and having it continued as a open good standing loan for about 6 months to a year. I have the cash to purchase the car in question out right, but would this do the trick instead?

I have a friend (really a friend) in Indiana who is unmarried and jointly bought a house with her boyfriend (NO CONTRACT between them). Now the boyfriend has taken a job in Kentucky, and has abandoned the house (not making any payments or doing any upkeep). Is there a 'law' that allows her to declare that he abandoned 'their' property? If so, what is that called or where can I find information on it? How long does he have to be 'not paying/contributing' to call it abandonment. She is paying all of the bills/upkeep on the home, and is wondering if such a law exists?

I would appreciate any insight from experienced individuals, especially attorney's, mortgage underwriters and real estate brokers. I'm open to anyone that has been through this as well. I'm just hoping for informed answers please :) Thank you in advance :)

Chase Bank gave me a $75 bonus when opening a free checking account with a free business account, but my h & r lady told me I'm supposed to use a different tax form called "1040 schedule c" for decorating consultant rather than reporting taxes as a business. I'm totally new to this since it's my 1st year reporting taxes. I would like to keep my business account so I can be able to separate business from personal, but since I'm not going to use the business name, am I supposed to close this acconunt and return the $75 bonus? or do you think they will let me keep the business account & the bonus?

Hi, its my last year of highschool and i have been trying to figure out what i wanna do for the rest of my life and after months of thinking i decided that i always wanted to fly commercail planes sense i was young i just never knew how to get started.. i mean i know i could join the airforce but i wouldnt be able to be an officer right away and thats needed to fly i also know that the competition in the airforce is crazy.. but what would you recommend? please provide me with some step by step guides to helping me understand how to become a commercial pilot and the diffrent ways i can go about achieving this.. and what is the easiest route.. thank you!

My family is monving from US to Toronto. We currently own our first home for 2 yrs. My husband is planning on giong back to college. I wanted to use our equity off the house to help pay for living expenses. He wants to invest it in buying another home. Any suggestions or thought processes to point out on making a good decision? I will proably by working and his school is mostly paid for, we have 2 children. Beacuse he will be in school i feel our finances will be challenged and am afraid to buy a house adn the responsibility that goes with it in case there is a problem. I had a small Christmas bash at the local holiday inn and found out that on dec. 26th they charged me $450 for the room and damages. Since they already have the money from my debit card, is there any way to dispute this and get some money back? I dont see any way that much damage occurred and most of the problem was noise complaints. Is there any such thing as a "charge back" or reversing of the charges? Any help on how to deal with this would be great since holiday inn says they are keeping the money.
