I thought it would be a great job when I first moved to San Antonio. I even went and put in an application. Then they told us we'd be driving on a test track, about 25 to 45 miles per hour for 4 to 8 hour shifts. Writing stuff down all the time, about tires, seats, mirrors, etc. REALLY started to sound so boring. I can drive 18 hours non stop from Chicago to San Antonio, but that job sounded terrible - never went back.

Part of why I went was because it was located at a place named after Tom Slick - anybody remember a cartoon about him years ago? I think he was a race car driver?

I had a friend that did that here in San Antonio, T X. Probably called test car driver. lol Anyway, in 2000, he was only making like $8 an hour. He did not like this particular job as the hours were not steady.

Test driver. You get to spend 8 hrs a day driving a minivan around in a circle - big deal.
