I had a small Christmas bash at the local holiday inn and found out that on dec. 26th they charged me $450 for the room and damages. Since they already have the money from my debit card, is there any way to dispute this and get some money back? I dont see any way that much damage occurred and most of the problem was noise complaints. Is there any such thing as a "charge back" or reversing of the charges? Any help on how to deal with this would be great since holiday inn says they are keeping the money.

Realize that 'damages' may include comping the room for the people who complained. Get a detailed list of what the damages were. You will probably have to negotiate something with them, just be sure they are not charging you $100 for a light bulb.

Because you paid for the room on a debit card as opposed to a credit card you do not have the same ability to dispute the charge. Your best option is to write to your bank and dispute the charge. Be sure to let them know that they billed you for what they are considering damages. They are actually in violation of credit card compliance rules, as a hotel can only charge for incidentals such as phone calls, movies or room service. They would need to seek an alternate form of payment. Your best bet is to get your bank on the phone and get started.

I would ask Holiday Inn to see a receipt for what they used $450 for. An itemized receipt. Then you can argue the charges with them.

Yes, you can dispute these charges. You must contact your bank and they will give you step by step instructions. They vary from state to state. Get ready for a fight. Expect it to be like when you are in the hospital and they charge you $42.00 for an aspirin and $8 for the 2 oz. cup of water to wash it down.

contact your lawyer. you'll need proof that the room was left in satisfactory condition. it'll be an awkward case seeing how you must have agreed to pay since you're the one who proceeded to complete the sale after knowing the amount. you had to say ok to the amount, choose savings or checking, and type in your pin number. if that were me i would have said no and had them come after me legally
