We were told that visits to the bathroom had to be done during our official breaks. This is very difficult because in a 7 hour shift we only have one half hour.Looking at this from an employment law point of view, are they legally allowed to do this.

I understand that I am required to report gambling winnings and that I am allowed to deduct gambling losses. But I do I determine gambling losses? Specifically, if over the course of a year I fund an online poker account with $3,000, cash out winnings for $5,000, and have $1,000 remaining in my account, can I deduct $3,000 in losses or am I limited to $2,000 in losses?

I'd like to know the avg number of your hours you spend sudying/reading your skill for your job whether you are in or out of school. I am particularly interested to know that for those working in IT field. It seems like if you are in IT, and don't continue studying/reading all you can do is end-user support.

I received a letter from a collections agency a few days ago. The agency is trying to collect on an a ten-year old phone bill that is now in the hundreds of dollars.

The delinquent account has not shown up on my credit report and I have a very good credit rating. Some credit applications I submitted in the past have been denied citing "too many delinquent accounts."

I never knew about the old phone bill or I would have paid it off. Now I am stuck with the decision to pay the bill collector or forget about. What are the pros and cons of tossing the collections letter in the trash?

My husband has been out of work for about a month now and we need to come up with rent money by next week. He has been doing odds and ends jobs but has only made the bare minimum for us to survive through the month. He has a prospect for a very good job in January but we can't wait that long to pay the rent. What can we possibly do?

I'm leaving the company to go into a completely different field (insurance to teaching). My current company doesn't plan on paying me for the 40 hours of accumulated time off. I've worked at the company for 3 years, don't owe them back wages or anything else, and am leaving by the book with more than 2 weeks notice. Can they withold that time off pay?
