My husband has been out of work for about a month now and we need to come up with rent money by next week. He has been doing odds and ends jobs but has only made the bare minimum for us to survive through the month. He has a prospect for a very good job in January but we can't wait that long to pay the rent. What can we possibly do?

Clean houses or offices. Start by asking your family and friends. Do not charge any less than 50.00 per house. The bigger the house the more you charge.

Another thing you can do is pet sit. Post adds in vet offices and pet stores. Charge 20 a visit and more for over night.

Have a yard sale. Ask your friends and family for stuff they no longer want. Offer to haul it for them.

Good luck!

For real, no joke, most strip clubs have an amatuer night. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Despite what people say it is a legitimate business. They have a legal tax i.d. number just like any other business.

I know this is not number one on your list but the money is fast, abundant, and legal.

I know this isn't the easiest thing in the world to do, but if you have anything of value you could try selling it (maybe on ebay or a pawn shop). Believe me, I do know how this feels. But material things are just that and you need to do what you need to do to survive. Never have regrets, regret is worthless. Just know that you have done what you need to do to support your family. That is nothing to feel badly about. Good Luck!

Try contacting your landlord and asking if there is some work that you and your husband can do to pay the rent.

You should sell cosmetics, like from Avon. You can sometimes make great commission.
